Who ever it was who came up with the name "Torture" for Chambers is to be congratulated. I read it the other day on this forum and laughed for half an hour. I also enjoyed the comment that we don't know whether the same Torture Chambers could be moved forward as a goal kicker because after two games we still don't know if he can kick! Great stuff. I'll keep scanning for clever stuff.

A Geelong supporter friend of mine told me if the swannies are going to continue to play Chambers then we better play Spriggs as well because (also being an ex cat) he might be the only one at the club who can unlock Chambers' ruck stategy which to me seems to be jump up, miss the ball and stand around and watch.

I don't understand how he hasn'tbeen credited with a kick as the all time peak of his skills was displayed when he tried to pick the ball up at his feetwhilst standing on the boundary line and he kicked it 10 cms out on the full. Free kickto Port.

I think to be credited with the stat, it has to be a deliberate action. Now I know he is pretty unco, but even that OOBOTF would be stretching the definition of a deliberate attempt to kick the ball.

I have a question here. We know that the whole of the ball has to cross the line for it to be out of bounds. If Torture really did kick the ball 10 cm then the ball could hit the ground out of bounds but the whole of it would not have cleared the line. So would it be out of bounds (and a free) or not?

Maybe it was 3/4 over the outside edge of the line before he kicked it.

Actually I'm fourth generation bloods and my kids are fanatical fifth generation swannies. "The Big Cat" name came for my days playing for a basketball team called "Panthers" and being big and slow I sarcastically said I moved like a big cat. The name stuck.
