You're 100% correct liz. Should have been a free kick to Fevola.

What Barry did was no better than picking him up and dropping him on the ground, simply because they both have the same effect of giving the player no opportunity to get the football.

Barry was never going to get that ball, and went up too early. Him touching the ball is indeed irrellivent because he did that once he had already been up, taken Fevola out, and then hit the ground.

      Free Kick.

Leo Barry has been shocking this year. Will be interesting to see if he can improve. He was fantastic last year and pretty good in 2004. Just okay before that and the new rules seem to have upset his play (hardly surprising when a lot of his defensive work consisted of scragging and pushing). He's also gone back to the ridiculous nonsensical and stupid play across half back.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

          Leo kicked it to Cox.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

            If only they'd man up

I do admit going nuts at the Carlton malakas who booed at the final siren. Seriously, get your team to man up. The AFL has made the game like soccer, so play it like that.

I really did my block at the booing. I will not stand it from a club who's history is all poaching every other team's best players, cheating with salary caps, the 1945 bloodbath grand final, and trying to end the Bloods in 1993 and have all their away games played at the SCG.
Totally agree.....i couldnt believe those morons for booing, just cause their team wasnt smart enough to man up! It is good to know that we were getting to them by playing the short game. It was just a win but any win over carlton is sweet.....thats 8 in a row now against them!

Honestly some of the supporters on this board think they are above all, even the club.

Settle down Red. I am entitled to offer my opinion as you are yours.

We all have our likes and dislikes when it comes to players and many a time players have come good and proved us wrong.

I am quite happy to call it as it happens weekly and eat humble pie if a player comes back to bite me. Eg. 2005 Jude Bolton improved out of site in the second half and I posted a Humble Pie thread to support his turn around.

I just happen to think Barry needs to be far more positive with his footy and more creative. He gets on his own and gets the footy, but what he could give to the team in far better thought processes with his disposal would be a genuine lift in deep penetrating run off the backline. He should take a leaf out of the Kennelly manual.

NMW's point about his scragging is spot on.
