That's pretty easy - the entry says it all:

      OUT: Williams (back)

so he was out but now he's back.

So Willo at 50% (or whatever) is still better than Willoughby, Schmidt et al. Where is the difficulty?

Williams, Willoughby - we're still scraping the bottom of the alphabet. At least until we recruit Yze or Zantuck.

Damn that means he can't have his 300th against Brisbane at the Gabba like his 250th match. I'm surprised he played last week.

Glad to see Kennelly back in though. Missed him.

Yeah, some of the younger guys won't be feeling crash hot. I'd say Willo has enough 'credits' to sit on the bench all game even if he is injured and can't play.

My guess is they gave Willo a chance to prove his fitness but he didn't make it. He has to be named as an emergency because of the rules for naming squads IIRC.

I don't think you have to finalise your squad until Friday for a Sunday game. So there was probably nothing to stop them naming another emergency once Willo was ruled out.

But it's all pretty academic. Moore and Dempster are clearly the next two in waiting, and neither of them is likely to play unless there's a niggling injury we don't know about - and yes, Crouch will play.

That means if he misses tomorrow's match then he will play his 300th game against the tigers in melbourne, thats great!

I believe he is not 'injured' per se. He has a sore back and thighs, but that he could play if the soreness goes away or they want to risk him.

It seems a precautionary step to me, and not a bad idea.
