Well maybe they should be reviewing your position as Mod then. We have to have a steady consistant 'professional' approach to moderation.

That means that one person can not go behind the other mods' backs and re-opening threads out of nothing but spite & one-upmanship.

NMW, as someone pointed out to me yesterday, it may have more of an impact if a whole side of the banner wasn't dedicated to a sponsor..?

I doubt if the CS has any choice over the advertising. I would bet that is a club directive, as probably with most clubs.

Yep, agree with this perspective. Milestones deserve to be acknowledged and the unregulated corporatisation of sport needs to be canned. I seem to recall the banner for Luffy's final game was green in order to promote a channel seven drama series. Nothing short of a disgrace regardless of whose decision it was or who acquiesced.

I prefer the banner in a sixties / seventies context with accompanying enormous floggers, newspaper strewn all over the ground, and seemingly endless alliterative slogans draped around the grandstands. These days we're bombarded with sign pollution, product placement, logos and shameless marketing exercises and 'competitions'. Hardly conducive to atmosphere.

At least our lot can spell.

How often does it happen...I went to the Roos v Coll (among others) game and noticed that the pie folk did this: 'Our black 'n' white stripes is here to stay Watch out roos we're here to play' Shouldn't it read 'Our black and white stripes are here to stay'...surely someone would notice...

Post of the year mate. Agree 1000& Long fence signs = completely RAD!

I made banners to contribute to the develoment of traditional footy culture in Sydney.

To hold up a banner saying "Play Golf at Riverside Oaks" is a tad cringeworthy. But when today's footy is such a commercial game, what can you do?

JF (thinking about going out on the field with giant 'Supre warehouse sale' placards on my front & back )

I'd be careful JF. I seem to recall the banner out at Telstra Stadium either last year or the year before where there was a spelling mistake on the Swans banner. "To" instead of "Too" or vice versa.

I remember Bomers rather than Bombers on our banner at Telstra Stadium a few years back.

The battleaxe responsible is no longer in the cheer squad.
