there were again some decisions that cost the game, the one against leo barry in the last quarter was ridlicious, jarad McVeigh was tripped, no free kick, what we have we done to deserve this, why has it always got to be the swans, look at the first two games where the free kick count was high.

We really can't blame the umpires every week.
There were some mistakes out there by the men in white, but they went both ways. The footballers made more mistakes.
I did feel for Rivers(?) when he gave away that HTB free that led to Schneider's second goal. It was probably a correct decision and you could almost see it unravel before it happened. It was also very smart play (not to mention reward for a hard chase) by Schneider.
But you have to wonder what footballerrs are meant to do sometimes when they get to the ball first.Comment

I thought that Schneider's 50 was not a fifty. I thought that the free kick that preceeded it was ridiculous. Yes, I agree that we often get the rough end of the stick but that it did not cost us this game.Comment

Umpiring did not cost us the game. The call against Barry was poor but had no real impact. The missed trip against McVeigh was disappointing, but it was one of a number decisions both ways incorrect (eg: the mark taken off Robbo when Yze incorrectly called as shepherding).Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Yeah there were iffy decisions but for both sides.
However, umpire #31's bounces were truly appalling. Worse than the ex-player-turned-umpire (I forgot his name) who copped so much flak for it.Comment

I believe Troy was the one who gave the free kick to Robbo against Leo for interfering in the marking contest, then ran down the other end of the ground to get Rivers for HTB and give the 50.I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his timeComment

Honestly? There's no point making a fuss about umpiring. Ultimately a good team wins no matter what - and we proved it last year with the premiership.
Getting aggrevated by something out of your control - and out of the players control - is fruitless.Comment

To me its always the ones we DONT get that piss me off. And there were plenty of stupid ones missed by the umps yesterday.
I dont think the umpiring cost us anymore than our poor kicking for goal did. But it still riles me how we seem to be so good at conceding a free within the first minute of every game and gift them a goal with it too.Our Greatest Moment:

But we got plenty of help from the umpires yesterday - that 50m penalty vs Rivers was disgraceful. If that had happened vs the Swans I would've stormed out of the stadium. I can only assume it was pay back for missing that blatantly obvious trip on McV.Comment
