A bit personal, but yes. I work with the military when they are on the Puckapunyal range, but it depends how much practical work they do as to how much I need to go out to the range. If they are out there I will go, but if they are doing classroom work then I do other stuff, like post on here.

No offense intended. Just curious because I am having a go slow today - cannot be stuffed so am poasting. I would post more but generally find it hard to find the time.

        ..anyway, back on topic.

Our recruiting stinks! Matthews is a cretin and Chambers is a lumbering slow dimwit

I hope you're not paid to retrieve the artillery rounds

Our recruiting has its ups and downs, but we have won a premiership and that is a strong argument in favour of our recruiting. 8 finals appearances in the last 10 years is equal to Essendon and Brisbane and bettered by nobody. I have no issue with the "no DH" policy, and we've recruited no homesick mummy's boys for several years.

In the last 10 years, we've had only a few single-digit draft picks, and no priority picks, mostly because we have been finishing fairly high on the ladder. Considering all the good players are gone by the time we get our first-round pick (assuming we haven't traded it away), I think we've done well to win a premiership.

No, I get to see them from the gun line. It's pretty good being a civilian and getting to see all of the big boys toys.

I think this is an important point, I'm glad that we haven't seen the likes of Gaspar, Rocca and Grant bailing out ASAP is several years.

I think Sydney recruit incredibly well and manage their list to field a consistent top 8 team. We've only missed the finals twice in 10 years - and won a premiership. That's better than a significant slice of the league. I don't know the results but surely we must be not far behind Lions/Essendon for consistency over that period?

Whilst I'd like us to pick up a couple of tall backmen and a good Ruckman like Cox/Brogan - it's unrealistic.

Give me a competitive team and regular finals appearances than a top 2 pick in the Rookie draft thanks.
Couldnt agree more.....it is clear that each year we have to pick up some top up players just to maintain being a final 8 team or else face bottoming out which would be disastrous for the club in the tough sydney market. A regular finals berth as we have had the past decade as well as a flag has definately been courtesy of the recruiting staff.

He is the only midfielder with talent and the only player that we have that can turn a game, he is 33. Surely the recruiting staff should have looked at options 3 years ago to cover him. As much as I love Bolts and Kirlky they just dont have the skills to cover Willo.
What about a tall back, that should have been a requirement, or someone to back up Jolly inj the ruck Ball was not going to last forever and you cant rely on Doyle.
Lets not blame our players back look at what we are paying our recruiting team to employ some talent.
We have won 1 game, against Carlton, big deal, lets focus on the real problem, recruiting.
