    Depth

This has been touched on a few times in various threads lately, but reading an article in the HUN today regarding changes to Geelongs team for this week got me thinking.

Given our current injuries, who apart from Dempster, Vogels and Bevan could possibly make a positive impact on the senior side, and are we only an injury or two away from early draft picks at the end of the season?

I have a horrible feeling the latter is the case.
We demand rigidly defined areas of doubt and uncertainty.

Lets bring back Warfe from retirement.

But on a more serious note maybe throw in Grundy.

Nick Malceski is looking good, could be very promising for us. I thought his game against Melbourne on sunday was fantastic & also had a good dig against Carlton. Im sure he will make an impact throughout the season.
Forget about Hall, it's all about Bradshaw

Given the team is struggling yet there are no changes being made suggests that the coaching staff believes that there is no one in the reserves who can step up to the senior level and have an impact. Comments from people here who watch the reserves tends to confirm that.

Whatever people say, we were extremely lucky with injuries last year. If we get a run of important players injured, such as Geelong, Bulldogs or Essendon, has had, then we will really be struggling and probably won?t make finals.

IMHO he is our next big thing. Just may take time to become a consistent performer. Needs to be given that time.

What was our last big thing?

Bevan still injured as is Willoughby (who I thought was a serious candidate for promotion)

Same goes for every team in the competition.

Bulldogs missed out by a dodgy free kick last year and are flying so far this year. Geelong made finals last year. Brisbane made the GF in 2004.

Certainly most teams will struggle, such as Collingwood over the past couple of years, however I think the Swans are particularly vulnerable to a few key injuries (eg: imagine Kennelly, Hall and Jolly).
