Well at least he didn't have a whinge like Bomber did about Ottens. Mind you I have tended to agree we are too quick to judge Chambers too:

Didn't see any mention of RWO.

Really happy with Chambers' game Sat night. In the team to create a contest, and he created a contest every time. Raw stats tell you that Geelong spanked us 57-33 in the hit-outs, but the team that clearly wins the clearances rarely loses the game... and we clearly won the clearances.
This is because very very few of their 57 touches were under so little pressure that Ottens/Blake could put it straight down a Geelong little man's throat (or bash it 20 metres to the team's advantage). They got the stat, but the ball hit the ground (or the body) in more or less a 50/50 situation, from where our midfield did much better than theirs.
Of course there's no ground for complacency, because their #2 ruckman Blake is really their #3, and a youngster still learning his trade. It could easily have been a very different story if Steven King was playing and so there was no respite from quality ruckmen on the other side.
Chambers was actually visibly 'in the game' more than Jolly on Sat night (presumably because of Jolly's injury).Comment

Chambers has shown improvement IMO. I quite like that he wants to tackle someone....anyone.
He definitely gets his hands on the ball at a bounce and hopefully will start to direct it better to our advantage.
He can also improve by tackling someone with the ball but I could see what he's trying to do!

The best clearance I saw all night was Chambers tapping it down to Goodes. I presumed Adam was there to babysit but it was very clean and effective so there should be more of it.Comment
