Nigel Tufnel: The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and...
Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?
Marty DiBergi: I don't know.
Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty DiBergi: Put it up to eleven.
Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel Tufnel: [pause] These go to eleven.
Makes me chuckle just thinking about it.

Williams proved his worth last week, as if he needed to!! He is the best straightener in the game..you rarely see him go to anywhere outside the corridoor, he constantly carries or delivers the ball into the 50, and rarely misses his man!
The return of Irish released Leo to be a bit more creative in running the ball out, as well as adding Irish's runout to the team. What a line breaker!
Nog is still developing, but had his kick across goal in the GF cost us the flag, he would be a very different player this year..I believe it concentrated his mind and will reflect later in the year as better concentration.
Nog was definitely in the top 10 performing Swans over the first half of last season but dropped off significantly in the second half of the year (which co-incided with lots of other players getting much better).
Is he in the top 10 most important players at the moment? Clearly not and not really close either. Doesn't mean he doesn't have a role to play or won't improve.
Also doesn't mean that he is - or is anywhere close to being - an automatic selection in the senior team. If one of Moore, Schmidt or Willoughby forced their way into the team, either through consistently outstanding reserves performances (ala Malceski) or to cover an injury, and made the kind of immediate impact that Schneider or Bevan did, such that it was impossible to drop them, you would have to think that, on current form, Ablett would certainly come under pressure to retain his spot.
Originally posted by RogueSwan Depends how you classify "one of our best", top 5, top 10, top 22? I could easily rate ten Swans as having a better year than Ablett last year.

Not Schneider?
And the man who started it, the Schneiderman, can kick his third for the quarter. And the swans are in the Grand Final!

Just an ordinary year last year.

Originally posted by Go Swannies Generally yes, but he did kick some goals at exactly the right time - and not just in the final quarter against the Saints, either.
The game against WC comes to mind, but not consistent enough.
On thinking about this for some time, I think he's underrated - esp. on this forum. Not flashy, but good with the one-percenters. Often gets pinged for HTB - but also because will be 1st to it in tight contests.
Yep, agreed - today was his best for 2006 & last week was probably his second best. Not a natural talent like the rest of his clan so he's gotta keep working hard. But looks now like he might get there this year.
