Keep Dempster in the team and have him take the kick-ins! He's the longest kick of the footy in our team by far and we should use that to our advantage. His goal yesterday was from on the edge of the square (so from about 55m) and cleared the line easily.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

He's always had an enormous kick on him, but has always looked for an offload, remember his pass the Tiger in the GF. Perhaps the eye operation he had in the pre-season has helped?

He is not a natural defender. He seems comfortable up forward, but we're full atm. He was so off the pace on a lead yesterday. If Mal Micheal had any idea how to grab and kick he would have kicked 6 on Ted.
I still cant believe he didnt flatten Aker. But he is not worthy of retaining his spot. For a guy playing on the 3rd choice talls and at times 4th, he provides minimal run and penetration from the flanks. Demspter can play tall and small and with confidence can run the lines.

I think that Richards will be more use to the team as a forward. I saw him put in a promising effort at North Sydney in that role.He really is not giving us much in defence, it must be said.

Dempster on the other hand is lightning fast out of defence and has pretty good skills.

How about dropping Pebbles for some goal kicking practice?
If Davis is to come back in we can use both Teddy and Nick in the forwards without losing much there and it keeps the back half looking stable with great rebounding ability.

Wouldn't that be nice. I watch other games and see how well a good 50m kick to an open man can set up a counterattack very quickly.

                Repeat after me:

The first rule of the kick-in is to chip it short to the back pocket.
The second rule of the kick-in is to chip it short to the other back pocket.

Actually I recall one kick-in that went beyond the 50m line. I almost dropped the remote when that happened!

Whenever we went long from the kick in it went straight to Goodes. Good ploy IMO with his aerobic capacity.

Still want to move it quicker though.

Was surprised Roos didn't move Ted up forward and give Micky and his knees an early mark.

The epithet "Super" is no longer to be employed with Richards. Seriously, does anyone here really belive this bloke is an AFL standard KPP? Since the pre-season he has done very little to give me confidence that he can play anywhere but as a floating HFF and we already have our quota of erratic flankers with ROK and Davis.

It will be real shame for Dempster to lose his spot while Richards retains his - the possible Richmond talls will be Richo, Simmonds & Stafford I suppose & I wouldnt like Richards' chance against any of those.

Why don't you guys like Super Ted ?

I think he is a good defender who just needs to play some games and show what he can do.

He is certainly better in defence than in attack and there is no space on the forward line for him at the moment

How about because we gave up a first round draft choice for a bloke who has shown very little to date to indicate that he will be any more than a depth player. It's even worse when you consider that we already have a superior player in Vogels who is languishing in the reserves.

Hopefully I will be proved wrong but the Richards trade may end up being a much bigger disaster than Chambers (who I think is performing better each week)

                              Out: McVeigh.
                              In: Davis.

If Mathews does play, please drop Richards for him, not Dempster.

If Davis isn't ready, drop McVeigh for Schmidt or Moore.

What's with the anti-McVeigh sentiment? If Davis is ready, McVeigh would probably be the one to make way but I don't see the logic in dropping him for Schmidt or Moore (who's injured btw).
