I’m compiling a list of Swans related songs on my iPod (I’ve got about 30 so far) and I was wondering if anyone knew of any that I might be able to add?
So far I have:
• many different versions of the club song (eg the traditional version, the 2021 updated lyrics version, the 1961 and 1965 South Melbourne versions, dance versions, the Glen Miller orchestra instrumental, a lullaby version, an acoustic guitar version and a drum accompaniment version, the players singing it after a win etc)
• the Up there for Sydney club song
• a couple of versions of up there Cazaly
• Capper’s “I only take what’s mine”
• Barry Round’s “Little Jeannie”
• Paul Kelly’s (the singer) song for the Adam Goodes documentary
• “The Courage of the Man”
• “3 Cheer for Roosy”
• “One Day in September”
• “One Tony Lockett”
There are probably a few others that I can’t remember off the top of my head. If anyone knows of any other Sydney Swans or South Melbourne related songs/music, I’d love to hear of them.
