I quite like Oscar, I’ve always found him strangely endearing: Goody Stella fondly dubbed him “Migraine” (because he looks like he always has one, not because he causes them!) many years ago and the name has stuck in our household.

I genuinely feel for him if he doesn’t play, but far out is that a massive advantage to us.

I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Fun fact. He’s the nephew of a friend.

i watched him play footy as a 12yo and he was a little shorty. Almost stumpy. He had some talent, but nothing special and didn’t grow till he was about 17, and then clearly grew a lot!

So I’m very conflicted about him not playing, but yes - a huge advantage to us. He’s the sort of ruckman that’s all angles and physicality that Grundy seems to struggle against.

I went to the 2nd Semi in 1986 at the MCG to see Fitzroy defeat us by 5 points after we led by 18 pts at 3/4 time. Gerard Healy missed sitter running into open goal at beginning of the 4th quarter.

Last Saturday's win was so similar & brought back painful memories. Only highlight was seeing Tony Morwood taking a screamer over a pack in front of me at the Puntt Rd end.

We went out in straight sets after also seeing us lose to Carlton the week before by 10 points. No home finals in Sydney back then despite us finishing 2nd to Hawthorn (Top 5 finals system).
