Ooooh you guys are tough. I agree somewhat, but this is a somewhat ad-hoc team at the moment with a lot of players missing. And it's HOT it's slippery, and Brisbane are probably more accustomed to playing in 30 degree heat. There's also a whole psychological thing going on too of course.

I think they've been OK considering. Not brilliant, but not at the level of despair yet.

I come on here less and less now.....easy to see why. I'm sure the lads are having a red hot go and the current scoreline is disappointing but some of the negativity here sucks. I think he knows who he is.....must have been an absolute star footballer in his day.

There's a whole quarter left....we'll see what transpires.

I understand the negativity can be draining but I think a lot of Swans fans are pretty dejected after the grand final last year. I think there feelings are just as valid as those who are being positive. I think the team deserves being questioned after another GF thrashing

Oh! Heartbreaking. But they didn't give up and they had a go, so good for them.

We were the underdogs, and we played to the end with lots of frustrating but probably excusable mistakes.

I think we'll be in the 8 this year, but we have a really hard draw.

Brisbane just had too much experience and a psychological advantage on the track. We did OK. I'm satisfied with that performance particularly as they didn't let it blow out.

And yes I understand the recent Grand Final disappointments, but I think the club has dealt with that . We have changed the coach, we have changed the game plan, I think we have a few GF wins in this group. We certainly have some excellent prospects. how good is Roberts? Bice looked likely, Jordan is wonderful, I'm glad Wicks is back. I'm afraid Chad is believing his own publicity a bit, Corey seems like a good prospect, but overall there is a lot to like about this team. They'll get there.

Yeah, I'm sure the Lions weren't perfect either. If they were, it augers well for when we get our act together doesn't it. A 4 pt loss after the GF shellacking actually shows improvement.

As I said last week, we'll be ok.

Gee that was frustrating to get so close at the end there. Just needed a little more composure and we might have snatched the win. The Lions had a lot of those little moments fall their way late (including what looked a very clear throw just before the high tackle - the umpires are gutless in how they won't call those sorts of things in big moments) - but we continue to in some ways be our own worst enemies in many facets of the game. But I thought a good step up in intensity and quality across the game in total from last week, so some promising signs per say.

exactly. it’s these little things that are just not good enough for this level. we switch on then off and if it’s not a fumble it’s a wrong pass or a simple dropped marks or a lame kicks at goals then the opposition get the ball and show us what’s up with a goal. annoying and disappointing af

Players who kick and pick out an opponent within 30m of goal like Roberts should be given the heave ho until they learn, Same goes for ollie last week. I like them both but today it lost us the game. Our kicking to a teammate is pathetic, McInnerney and Lloyd do it a lit, maybe not from the goal square but they dont put their boot into the ball, get Blair C to teach them how to kick. Very disappointed today I think we were the better side but we lost concentration and unless we learn we wont win. Freo next week in Perth. Shooting fo goal by our key fwds is also pathetic, Amartey couldnt hit the side of a barn today.

I look at it differently, not thinking about the GF just watching the live game.

We had that game and wasted it with poor skills.

To dig deeper, I'd say we are a tall short up front, Amartey rucking clearly affects his time fwd. I believe that is exposing the Tom Mc move as we arent getting reward for Toms work across the middle of the ground. I'd say he goes back with Melican out.

Liked Bice and Hamling and Hannily has a crack.

Amarty has not improved over last year...maybe the year before. He does not have the skills to be a consistent skilled full forward at AFL level. So many opportunities....so little return. He can't take marks. He can't kick goals even when he is in an unassailable position. He would struggle at the SANFL level. The quicker we trade him out, the better we will be. To be frank, I can't stand him.
