Well I should feel sorry for the doggies, but yeh na I really, really don't. Hope it happens to them on grand final day sometime.
Round 2: the other games. I'm interested in apathy.

I didn't see the end of the game but I see the Doggies fans are up in arms about a missed below the knees free kick.
Oh the delicious irony.Last edited by mcs; 21 March 2025, 10:03 PM."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Dan Hannebery shaking his head at the hypocrisy of Bulldogs fans as he nurses a knee that will never be the same after the 2016 GF.
No doubt the Poodles were shafted last night but perhaps their supporters should be reminded about how they were given an armchair ride to a Premiership in 2016.Last edited by Sandridge; 22 March 2025, 07:36 AM.👍 1Comment

Watched some of the Bombers game. Boy we dodged a bullet when we missed out on Ben McKay. He’s consistently crap, fumbly, and a great example of everything wrong with the Bombers.Comment

And somehow, Rory Lobb got cleared. What a Pandora’s box the AFL opened up with that one, saying it was a purely football act.Comment

I like what the Saints are doing to Geelong right now. Saints are up by 29 points at half time."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

I'm sorta okay with that, even though I think more of those "made him earn it" actions should be sanctioned. I don't like the late trailing forearm smashing into a marking players head. Nor do I like a highly coordinated athlete punching the back of an opponent's head, in an alleged attempt to spoil the ball being held aloft half a metre away. I think most of those incidents involve some sort of malice. However, even though Lobb caused a bit of damage, I did get the impression that it was a genuine attempt to spoil.
That being said, I suspect that if Cox was concussed, then Lobb would have got weeks. Which is probably how things will proceed. That is, those whacks to the head will not attract any suspensions, until one of them causes a concussion and the offender will be given weeks: whether it was deliberate or not.
I'm also interested in whether Dangerfield gets suspended? I suspect that it'll be adjudged as insufficient force and that he'll get off. Even if it was a late elbow to the head of an opponent, who was looking away to where he'd kicked the ball. And even if it seemed to be the sort of cheap shot, that some players resort to when they're pissed off that they're losing.Comment

West Coast have kicked the first five against Brisbane. You'd assume that Brisbane will wake up soon, but it'll be amusing if they didn't.Comment
-
The Brisbane crowd are getting restless, with West Coast still four goals up at the half. The two Liams, Baker and Ryan, have been fun to watch.Comment

The crowd will feel a little more relaxed now with Brisbane just taking the lead.
And losing it again as I finished writing that sentence!!

This paragraph on the AFL site made me chuckle:
"WEST Coast has been issued a 'please explain' by the AFL, after young gun Harley Reid was seen gesturing with his middle finger, towards the crowd at the Gabba on Sunday."
I hope the Eagles get back to them, with something along the lines of, "After an extensive investigation into the incident, it was the determined that the message that Harley wished to convey, was '@@@@ you'."Comment
