Swans chat Team changes round 4 v North.

With Papley out, I assume that Cleary comes in. With his time off, I suspect that McDonald comes back through the VFL. Therefore, McLean and Ladhams probably stay in.

I wouldn’t write Sheldrick off just yet- he may need a few more games to adjust, as some players do. However, due to our injuries he has a chance to prove us wrong, which we all hope he will. He may not get too many other chances.

Agree that Cleary coming in for Papley should be the only change and we maintain our 2 ruckman setup.

Question is who will be sub? I see 3 possible candidates: Sheldrick, Cleary or even Hanily.

Noticed Tristan Xerri went off for hamstring tightness during the match last Sunday and finished the game. He has been cleared to play this week, but i suspect he may not be 100% fit.

Hopefully, we may gain Ruck advantage wiith Grundy/Ladhams, as Jack Darling was clearly outgunned by Tex Walker as 2nd Ruck (he kicked 2 goals on him from boundary throw ins).

He’s had enough chances I reckon, but with the ongoing injuries to Mills and Adam’s he may just sneak a few more chances

The Paps loss is bad. It’s no coincidence we came alive as a team when he kicked into gear from the second quarter onwards last week.

Finally pit him in the middle for patches.

I'd say he was nursing that heel early on, which is why he didnt goi to the middle the first 2 games and it has flared up

Ch7 reported last night that Xerri is out for North, which is particularly significant given how well he's been going, and how poorly Grundy has been going.

That would be handy, if correct, as Xerri has developed into one of the better ruckmen in the competition. I'd assume that Teakle comes in for North and he's more of an honest toiler. Which might tempt the selectors to rush McDonald in, at the expense of Ladhams. Though personally, I think I'd prefer him to come back through the VFL.

I'd be gobsmacked if they left Ladhams out given his excellent last Q.

It's been reported that McDonald will be playing "restrictive minutes" in the VFL. That suggests he's not yet able to play a full game. If it's 3/4 of a VFL match, he may play next week.

As expected, Cleary in & Papley out.

Norf have namred Xerri. Toby Pink has been dropped. Matt Whitlock will make his debut.

Reckon Norths would fancy themselves, pretty ordinary swans side, Big game for our season I reckon
