Literally selected a bloke at FF hoping he has a career night

Likewise accuracy from Francis who is a defender
You are changing your argument as you go.

At your post above you said:

You just talking about accurate shots on goal or kicks around the oval ?

Both those accurate we win by 10 goals, but not for thr first time this year, they weren

Now it's apparently about selection as well, not just accuracy, even though that's not what you said to start with. Originally according to you if we were accurate we win by 10 goals.
And our inaccuracy came from a lot more than the selection of Hamling and Francis. They were the least of our accuracy issues. Francis and Hamling got 3 behinds between them. As a team we got 15. Between them Heeney and Warner got 4 (not to mention McLean, Mcinerney, Campbell, Hayward ....). I don't understand why you're so obsessed with Hamling and Francis and so keen to pin it all on Cox rather than a day of crap kicking by a large number of people.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

Cox selected 2 defenders up fwd, when he could have played Ladhams and kept Mclean fwd.
Them getting 3 shots on goal, out of 20+, collectively probably highlights the selection as an issue.

We could have won nonetheless regardless of selection due to Essendon being sh8thouse on top of being depleted.

Skills are woeful across the ground, have been all year

How Patton gets a game is beyond me.
Given the job of tagging Martin...In just over a quarter, Martin has 18 disposals and is hugely influential.
No more of this guy please.

We need to improve on at least 3 fronts: starting with selection- obvious that McLean needs to stay up forward and therefore Ladhams needs to play. Second, our skill levels are down and the players need to look at themselves in the mirror. Finally, kicking accuracy both around the ground and for goal needs a huge lift.

Selection and tactics are in the coaches domain but the rest is up to the players. Collectively they have let us down. Coxy looked very disappointed and upset post game.

Sadly true. A solid VFL player, but can’t make that next step.

                Selection

Going into the Port game, we lose Amartey we drop Ladhams. Creating a crater in our fwd line by losing 2 fwds plus Mclean now has to ruck.

This week we lose Melican so we play our backups Hamling and Francis fwd.

                Head scratching.

I have said i t for weeks Cox cant coach. and where are his assistants ,he sat next to JL and they talked to each other, Cox seems alone. Patton should never ever be selected again should have never been selected before, got discarded by sts why did we see something in him. Kicking across the ground JMac the worst with LLoyd and Roberts not far behind. Agree with earlier comments try Butler and leave Mclean fwd. Try some of the defenders in the reserves Snell or edwardes they would have to be better than what we are playing with. Maybe they will show us or its out rhe door at year end. ITurned off the tv at qrt time so bad.

My issue isn't about Cox's ability to coach its more him trying to pull a rabbit out of the hat every week at selection.

It's hard to know if he can or can't coach we he handicaps himself at selection nearly every week.
Clearly he has a few out but he isn't helping himself.

As for Buller, if he can't get a game atm, he may as well be delisted.

Agreed- I’ve said the same about Buller. Ok, he hasn’t set the world on fire in the two’s but we need to find out if he has a chance to make it at AFL level by giving him a run of games now. It’s hard to imagine another time when we only have 1 fit forward in McLean- what the ##@@# are the selectors waiting for? And I’d drop a few who can’t hit a target- my sister can kick sideways or backward too! In case they’ve forgotten, the idea is to pass the ball to a teammate in a better and attacking position- not all over the place and putting him under pressure. Heck, juniors can do that, and these guys are professional footballers- PLEASE!

And in case they’ve forgotten, the game is 120 minutes- do they need Coxy to remind them? Horse had the same problem last year- they went to sleep for at least 1 quarter nearly every game, usually the first. Is it that hard? You need to be mentally strong- it’s a tough gig but you get paid heaps so man up and don’t serve us this @#@#!

Agreed, surely let’s take this opportunity to see what Buller, Ladhams , Snell and Edwards can do ( I do understand some are injuries and have limited fitness base but when they are ready) - using make shift players to cover doesn’t make sense for me, we can stamp the papers on Paton and Corey Warner we don’t need to see them again. We need to be competitive each week with an eye to the future now I reckon.

Can anyone make out who the media/Cox are praising towards the end of Cox's press conference? I can hear the media mention the defence as a unit and Blakey in particular but I can't make out another name the press volunteer. Cox then goes on to praise the second half performance of the defence but refers to "those two in particular". One is clearly Blakey. Can anyone work out who the other player singled out is?

Cox then goes on to praise Chad's efforts (all game) but I don't think Chad is one of the two Cox is including in "those two in particular" since that comment seems to be specific to the defensive unit.
