Happy that Clearly, Dattoli and Florent all get another go, with the latter 2 in the starting 18. Interesting who will be the sub from those named on bench, which also ncludes Maclean, Harry, Sheldrick & Campbell.

Would be going against protocol to name Cleary again, so I suspect it might be Sheldrick even though i prefer not.

        Rowie;

He has been struggling. Last week Cox sent him forward and he didn't do much better so he put him back into the mids. Again he didn't play well there either. He is averaging 13 disposals in the last 10 matches. This is not good enough for a mid. He needs to get 20 or more. He also panics when kicking out of defence. some of his clearances from Centre bounce are really kick and hope too. Time for him to have a stint in the reserves.

        Jordan

He continues to get low disposal figures and has been beaten a few times in his lockdown role. Last week he didn't play as a tagger and was really terrible. Yet again only 12 disposals. Cox will not drop him but at this time he is not useful enough to be in the team. In two of his last tagger roles he has been outplayed by several opponents. He used to get plenty of the ball but that has died up and so have his forays to goal. I think he deserves a stint in the reserves. But Cox won't do that with McLuggage to take down. At the moment I don't think Jordan is capable of taking him down. Mcluggage will still get 30 @ 89% and murder us. I would prefer if we ran a fast player through the mids and took McLuggage out of the play by winning the ball and getting it off quickly.

        Who would come in?

Fox and Adams. Robby is a good choice to replace Jordan. Adams might be a bit better than Rowie. It all depends on what the coach wants out of this match.
I was at the game last week and can assure you Jordan tagged Merrit from the very beginning, and did a good job limiting his effectiveness. No way will Jordan be dropped on that performance. Stats can be very misleading

Sheldrick was very good last week, and pleasingly now is adapting to the pace of the game and his ball usage was relatively good in the atrocious conditions. Suspect it will be Cleary again

The top 8 with Fwds that don't Ruck or ruck minimally in the fwd line

            Crows- Tex and Fogarty
            Pies - Membrey, Mihocek, Mcstay
            Freo - Voss, Treacey, Amiss
            Geelong - Cameron, Neale,
            Brisbane - Smith, Morris, Hipwood
            Gold Coast - King, Adams
Hawthorn - Gunston, Chol, Lewis, Dear
            GWS - Hogan, Stringer, Cadman

Not sure what the bottom 10 is doing but would assume they are doing the same as us

Mclean kicked 8 goals in his first 4 games playing alongside other talls and hardly rucking
He has kicked 13 in the next 12, 11 if you take out the GWS game.

Almost up there with the Tom Mac fwd move this one

McLean no world beater but has shown plenty in his time at the club. Been down on form for whatever reason. this year. Looks to have lost too much weight IMO. Certainly not writing him off.

Agree re Sheldrick. Campbell has also been pleasing this season, having greater impact without the high possession numbers.

If Cleary is sub again, it will be the first i can recall we have done so consectively this year.

Would prefer Lloyd, so to give the younger players more opportunities for remainder of this season.

Sheldrick was sub in Rounds 4-5 and Round 8-9. He was also sub in Round 2 and Round 3 was our bye so technically he was sub 3 rounds in a row.

It's worth briefly noting Brisbane's growing injury list. The following players from their 2024 Grand Final team are all injured: Answerth, Lester, Lohmann, McKenna, Neale, Payne. We're missing a few players as well (Amartey, Fox, Hayward, McDonald, Roberts, and Parker is no longer on our list). Last time we played them was in round 1. We had a lot more players out injured than they did and lost by four points.

We have to be a bit of a chance to cause an upset.

Im not at all writing Mclean off, in fact the opposite, I'm saying the coaching staff are to blame due to his role and their inability to pick a tall fwd line.

He isnt a ruck, let Ladhams do that role and leave Mclean forward to kick goals which he can do

Exactly, like every other team playing finals, at LEAST 2 permanent tall full fwds

Going long down the line and letting your smalls crumb a wet track is a good option too
