Heeney has been bent over by the umps today - utter garbage calls all day long. That last one a joke.

Our forward line entries in that quarter were just awful however. Can't beat good teams if you want to give their tall defenders basic marking practice.

Effort has been fine today and there has been some good moments - but a good reality check going into pre-season about how much we have to improve.

Another tall down the line anyone ?

The game plan falls apart when Heeney doesnt play out of his skin and kick 5

The state of umpiring in the game continues to be a disgrace. Driven by stupid subjective rules, and over-officiating of games.

Time to get in the gym instead of back to back 3km.
Geelong are walking thru our tackles

Poach the Geelong fitness coach, even Jack Martin is huge now

Whilst we’re right off the pace in many areas of the game, the umpiring is truly abysmal.

Ladhams and McLean done nothing since the 1st half as they are both cooked

I came home from Europe just in time to see this....LOL- We have been outclassed today, some of our players are just not up to standard. They need to get fit...We need a full forward, somebody who knows forward craft, somebody who will present a target...we can' rely on Heeney to do everything.

Tackling- shame Sheldrick, you have to do second efforts or you won't make it in the AFL, but you're not the only one Fitness- this whole 'let's play one sensational quarter'- doesn't work, 4 quarter efforts, bulk up- train train train- get fit...and get a good fitness coach...

But for me, what we really need is a forward. Is there anybody on the market we can steal?

I think the forward line is the problem

Started off okay, but became an increasingly difficult watch. Which was always on the cards, against a team that probably should be premiership favourites, who don't really have any injuries and don't appear to have a salary cap. Of all the teams still in contention, they are the side that I would least like to win. And since Hawthorn are still in contention, that's saying a lot.

We have the guys, just hoping we play enough of them when healthy

Best part of that was seeing Cameron go goalless.

Very harsh on Ladhams. Competed hard all day, and rucked basically with barely any chop out at all. Far from our worst out there.

We got absolutely cut apart on the turnover today. All the Geelong players look like they've been on the 'roids, and we struggled to match their physicality and strength. And then far too often when we got the ball, skill errors hurt us badly.

It is what it is, and no surprise that we dropped off in the second half - Geelong will be hard to beat come finals. Thought Sheldrick, Wicks, Blakey tried hard, thought Gulden, Warner and Mills were a bit mixed (plenty of pills but some bad turnovers). Heeney absolutely bent over (without lube) by the umpires. Defenders managed Cameron very well, but a few other cats got off the chain.

A typical 'we've got nothing to play for performance' after half time. Disappointing sure, but not unexpected.

If there is anyone needing surgery, they should be sent off tomorrow for surgery. Even with half a team out there we will beat Wet Toast next week.

I thought Ladhams was ok- not his fault we lost. Simply beaten by a better team. After the first 15 or so minutes we weren’t in the game.

So true. I almost kicked my TV to pieces when that happened. The umpiring today was atrocious. I’m not saying that’s why we lost but it detracted enormously from the viewing experience. I don’t know how many blatant Geelong throws went unpunished but it was in the dozens. That free against Heeney was the moment though when I thought I might never bother watching this stupid effing game again.
