Team List Team Selection: Round 24 v West Coast

Last game of the season. Hope the boys respond to last week's disappointing effort, as this is a danger game with WC taking it right up to Adelaide in their previous home game.

Grundy is a test to return after concussion, but is it worth risking him in a dead rubber with Ladhams doing well in his absence?

Selectors may also decide to reward Co Warner.
    Possible team changes:

    IN: Grundy, Co Warner
    Out: Ladhams, Dattoli

I'd play Grundy and Ladhams in the same team and see what happens. Ladhams to good to be languishing in the reserves.

The reserves have finished their season.

You know what I mean. He probably would be playing semi regular AFL football at a lot more clubs. Reckon today's dropping could be the final blow but we'll see.

Boring 'Take No Chances Coxy'. Datoli was poor but the experienced players didn't help as they all bent over like naughty schoolboys and got spanked. Poor old Cleary must think the bench is home. Why not leave him in for a full match? poor coaching. Why is Grundy coming in for the last match? Could have tried stuff. Eagles aren't that dangerous. As I say, boring selection for the last match. We aren't gonna get any better with selection like this. I would have put Brody away for the rest of the season, 1 match. It seems nobody at the Swans has any imagination. I mean, they procrastinated about bringing Buller in because there were doubts about him at the level and he has proven them wrong. It wasn't him that lost us the match against Cats, he still tried hard. It was the mids and experienced forwards who refused to chase and couldn't get a kick. The mids couldn't win a footy in a raffle if they had the only ticket, they were that @@@@e in the second half.

I hope they play better this week but I won't hold my breath. The Eagles might even get hold of our lazy mids and forwards and run off them. You never know. Be a good lesson because the Bigheads don't seem to have learned anything.

Not really sure what this team selection says. Ladhams deserved another go. I can see why Bice and Warner have come in but at the same time getting games into Cleary and Dattoli is important too.
Would have liked Snell to get a taste of it too.

If I’m Ladhams, after putting in the performance he did last week, I’d tell the manager to park the two year contract on offer and firmly look at what else is out there.

Fair point but as I’ve said, he wouldn’t get into any of the top 8 teams on a regular basis. So that leaves the next 9 teams (without us), where he could get more games, especially if there are injuries. So he should weigh up where he would be better off: possibly getting more games in a lesser team or sticking with us.

I thought his game last week certainly warranted retaining his spot as our No. 2. Don’t like using McLean as relieve ruck for two reasons: a) he’s not very good as a ruck and b) it leaves our forward line without a key tall.

So I really don’t know what our selectors are smoking- it was a no brainer to rest Brodie after his concussion even if he passes all his tests. Of course he would want to play, but it’s more important from the team’s point of view that Ladhams is given more game time, especially when our ladder position is locked in.

Why can you see why Corey has been included here? He plays well in the Reserves but he has an average Disposals of 7.2 this year. That ain't good unless you are Will Hayward as he will kick 2-3 goals.

I agree. He needs to look elsewhere. He could be a First ruck. We are not treating him well. HNe gets dropped after playing well. Wow.

Not sure Buller will be on list next year, it will depend on how other dominoes fall

                            Essendon if Draper goes
                            Carlton If TDK goes
                            West Coast

He could get a better go at it elsewhere for sure.
Not sure he cares about playing in a bottom 9 side, he just did a season in VFL for us and we were terrible.

If he stays he needs his head read, we have 2 talls to come back in plus Green, he isnt a priority, god help us if Grundy gets injured

I hope this coaching group adopts a tall fwds structure next year like every other successful team, never been more frustrated to support this club
