Match Thread Match thread: Swans v Eagles.

Seems a somewhat uninspiring end to season that was derailed early and never really gained momentum.

No farewell games, that we know of. No milestone games. Except perhaps the fact that Heeney needs another 3 goals, to become the 12th Swan to kick 300 goals, after Papley achieved the feat last week.

Wouldn't surprise me if we won by 100. Wouldn't surprise me if we fumbled our way to an insipid loss.

Bice is our sub. Weather is 13°, with a slight chance of a shower. No wind.

Paps holds it up for 30secs on the wing when we are out

The latter is looking like a distinct possibility at the moment. Are the lads on holiday already? FFS, where's the pride?

To only be two goals down is extremely fortunate.

Very lacklustre start. We certainly don't look very focused. The umps following the crowd. One of there blokes spun around about 3 times with the ball - play on. Centre clearances not looking good but I havent checked the stats.

They Flood our fwd line, we get out marked

Another thing an extra tall does is hold the other defenders accountable and not let them run off to help in the air

I tend to avoid making judgements inside three or four years of being drafted but we took Ned Bowman before Jobe Shanahan because . . .

Yes, I really wanted Shanahan. From southern NSW and starred for the Allies, as a hard leading, strong marking key forward. I can now understand why we took Dattoli, but Bowman better come good, or I might be making similar posts ad infinitum.

He is too tall to play for our fwd line

Some bewildering umpiring that quarter to both sides but some howlers missed. About 3 WC throws allowed. Maybe 5 umps will solve it?

McCartin is a great mark and very good defender but I hate watching him kick. Corey Warner done some good things I guess.

Just noticed Grundy 30 hitouts at half time. I guess the scoreboard shows some hitouts are pointless but as Dermie said Grundy's hit out to Gulden was top class.
