If they employed a half decent events co-ordinator this sort of thing wouldn't happen.
          Bring it on!

Bit like the millenium argument this one (I still think they celebrated that a year early).
They did celebrate it a year early.

Its the swans 25th year in Sydney. Its 24 years since the first game in 1982.

One of the original NRL clubs(the Roosters) are celebrating their centenary season next year, a year earlier than when the NRL is planning to celebrate. 1908-2007 100 seasons 99 years.
..And the Swans are the Premiers...The Ultimate Team...The Ultimate Warriors. They have overcome the highly fancied Hawks in brilliant style. Sydney the 2012 Premiers - Gerard Whately ABC

That's how I saw it when the AFL was celebrating it's "centenary", although IMO the AFL is less than 20 years old IIRC.

This is upsetting. I had 20 days worth of plans and that's not happening anymore due to the Ball not going through. If I was turning 25, I would celebrate the year I turned 25, not the year after meaning I was 25 years old.

Don't you celebrate at the end of the year? For exemple you celebrate turning 25 at the end of your 25th year, not at the start.

Think this is probably just a matter of poor ticket sales or something, so the decision was made to celebrate the 25th birthday as opposed to the 25th season.

My dad said the same thing. People probably bought tickets to other functions and couldn't afford to pay 200$ or 250$ for a Ball ticket (which is expensive, but people from Sydney and Melbourne were willing to pay that much!)
