Hayden did do some ruck work but did not get a long time on ground. Joel nop idea in ruck suggest he misses out as does Ladhams. Grundy plays most of the time and Ladhams almost useless up fwd as Joel is in ruck. Cant see datoli and Hanily playing much snr football with Rocas and paps taking their preferred spots.
I am currently trying to pick our best 22 with 4 interchanges and 0 substitutes which I think is now the rule. Some other players will also miss out unless injuries occur.

I thought Campbell was OK. The bloke who butchered the ball was Corey Warner.

Yes I agree but he is currently outside the 22 anyway and Campbell will surely come under pressure from the youngsters - he just struggles to get involved I think he just lacks footy IQ all the talent in the world but just cant read the game

I think that sums up Campbell. Lots of natural ability and a beautiful kick but footy IQ seems to be missing. Also watched the Melbourne v North match, its going to be another long season for North supporters

With regards to Braeden Campbell and his lack of footy smarts. Could this be due to his lack of set position? He has been thrown around a lot which will make it harder for anyone to learn the game. Or could this deficit have been discovered and worked on in the academy?
I have this notion in my mind that academy players are schooled in reading and understanding the game and not just how to kick and mark.

What I did notice with Campbell is he appears to have bulked up a bit from last season and he was able to break tackles on a few occasions. My biggest frustration with him for someone with elite kicking skills, he misses too many relatively easy shots on goal. Having said that I feel his confidence is rising and he will have a break out year this season

you can't teach footy smarts you may develop them over time, but you can't teach it. Don't get me wrong I want all swans players to succeed I just see Braeden and he looks like he doesn't have a feel for it.
