Gee that rain was heavy in that second half. Hard to read a lot into it as a consequence, but thought our talls handled the conditions well. Sheldrick very good, talls evenly contributed, and I really like some of what we've seen from Serong. Bring on the real stuff next week, but felt like it was a good warm up for that!

AFL site is saying that he was taken off as a precaution for a minor rolled ankle. They reckon he should be right for opening round.

Stop trying to find ways to effectively excuse the behaviour. It isn't acceptable and the AFL has been clear in their punishments on it their views on it. In your world you may treat him differently - sure. But equally, the AFL has set a marker down on it and will maintain that going forward I expect. And I'm comfortable enough with it - although as noted on here, timings have made it a very long punishment effectlvely.

              Whatever

Hopefully he gets on the park and shows enough as a player to be around longer than his suspension

Club says he is definitely playing next week. Not a bad thing he went off given the conditions. He will be nice and fresh for the first round.

The one thing that annoyed me was the short passing to a player covered. Mills is a serial offender and Bice needs to not do this. It was a very wet day and you have to make distance. Amartey tried it in the last quarter also.

                Serong was very impressive.

Gerard Healy started talking about Harry Kyle but got cut short. It sounded like he was about to sing his praises. Did any one see the 2's.

Thanks Nico and great to hear. Yes, an early exit might have been a plus!

Great that it seems like Errol is OK. I agree with everybody about Serong, looks fabulous. Great ball skills, very cool under pressure, could be a real plus.

A mate of mine who's a mad Hawks supporter (I know) raves about Serong. He said when we recruited him he's easily a best 23 player at any club in the land and was actually surprised the Hawks didn't play him more, regardless of where they had supposed cover for him. I'd seen a bit of him and was impressed, but gotta say - I reckon he's gonna be the best value pick we've got for a long time.

I get what your saying, to an extent.....but he's now in a professional environment where there are standards. Basically, it's time for the whole of society to grow up in this area, 'kids' included.

Just finished watching delayed streaming of the game. Just before the end of the game in the deluge and lightening, a 50m penalty was paid against Rosas. Keli Underwood commented he had been reported for abusive language. Rosas hung his head down as the umpire spoke to him.

Did anyone else see this? Very disappointing and such a big brain fade if this is the case!

Earlier in the game, McInerney gave.away 2 x 50m penalties, which Gerard Healy rightly scathed him for trying to play the tough guy which got him into trouble last year. Again, there were implying he might have been reported?

Update? I just read the match report on the club's website and Rosas has been officially reported for abusive language.

No mention of McInerney being reported.

my worry is, hasn't cox leant, they get serong to play back, but what happens he spend a lot of time fwd of centre. why did we play Gulden particularly when it was obviously known of the conditions coming. Have to change mind on sheldrick played well but kicking still lets him down. a worry is he is getting more time on ball than rowie. hope thats not signs of things to come and he doesnt finish up like wil and ollie. also why cant the swans get its injury list to us. seems like a few injuries we havent been notified of.

I can't tolerate umpire abuse. It's an unusual report these days so it must have been pretty ordinary language. Rosas wasn't required at GC and we hand him a lifeline and this is his thanks. I hope he cops at least a week. We've got plenty who can take his place. On JMac: will this bloke ever learn. He gets another 5 years and keeps playing like a bully. He has to be told to pull his head in.
