Recently announced was the passing of former South ruckman, Ray Lucev, who we recruited from West Perth.

I remember Ray, no.8 IIRC. He was a ruckman. I was in the stand in the forward pocket one day, Ray was setting up for a shot for goal with no daylight between the sticks, and he slotted the goal with the straightest kick I have seen. He was a right footer and was on his wrong side. Played 1965-66. 30 games and 14 goals.
