And who is going to kick the goals if you drop McDonald and Armartey. It is worth noting that the stats suggest that the Swans are winning more knockouts than their opponents in the first three games. Obviously Grundy is the reason, but he also spends more time on the field. You loose one game after a 5 day break and you want wholesale change!!!!!!.Comment

Someone makes a regular post on Reddit where they watch Gettable and post a summary so others don't have to.
In that summary, it was stated that the Swan "weighing his Future" is Amartey, who is some kind of free agent this year.

Thanks TS. Comparing Amartey to Curnow right now in working out his worth $$$$ is ridiculous! He wants to stay. Club is not in a rush to sign him up as yet, as they (rightly) would want to see a bigger sample. How on earth can Sam Edmund know whether our salary cap is tight? Based more on assumprion with getting Curnow and probably not taking into account the salary dump with Hayward and Ollie's departures. Rosas and Serong would most likely be on less money (based on their picks)?Comment

After Rosas Jr 7 goal performance on Sunday, it was interesting reading how we secured him.
Hardwick used fake trade tactics on Rosas Jr at the end of the 24 season in the hopes to improve his output for the following year, which backfired.
We had been on his case since Hardwick made those comments. Being out of contract, we made the best pitch out of the numerous Vic clubs chasing him. These being:
1. Girlfriend is a smart lawyer and is happy to work in either Sydney or Melbourne.
2. After missing playing in the GC finals team last year, he yearned to play for a finals bound team.
3. We actually promised Rosas a small forward position rather than we'll find you a position that all the other clubs had only proposed.

The AFL has knocked back a request by Sydney for a mid-season draft selection to replace Hetherton for technical reasons. Details here: Vic clubs target Eagle, eyes on uncontracted Bombers, Roo to start talks (afl.com.au)."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Thanks TS. Also embedded in the link is the latest Gettable video, where it's reported Joel Amartey wants to stay in Sydney and the club will be offering him choice of a 4 or 5 year deal with various $$$$ terms.
I'm a bIt surprised, as i thought a 3 year deal would be suffice, but glad he'll remain a Swan nevertheless.
P.S. Under the current AFL rules Cat B selections with LTI can't be replaced in the Mid Season draft. Carlton are in the same boat.👍 1Comment

Not so fast on Amartey. It seems he and the club are still ways apart on dollars and Lemb clubs are coming hard for him, apparently Carlton (lolz) being the latest.
We've got mammoth contract years in 2027 and 2028, ranging from top liners like Chad, Errol, Issac, Grundy and McCartin, to a batch of next tier players like JJ, Edwards, Logan, and on and on.
So Joel may have to make a decision between the dollars, and what's around him and who's delivering the ball to him.👍 1Comment
