Team List Team Selection: Round 1 v Brisbane @ SCG

Don't expect any changes this week, unless they decide to play 2nd ruck with Ladhams.

Brisbane will have McCluggage, Harris, Gardiner & Bailey out due to injury & suspensions. Question mark over Logan Morris with his fractured hand.

Some good news on our injury front with Harry, Jevan & Jesse all to be tested to resume in the VFL this week. (Refer latest injury update on club website).

Brisbane will be hell bent not to go 0-2, so expect them to come out fired up. We'll need to play 4 quarters of good footy and not start sloppy as we did last week, otherwise Brisbane will blow us out early.

8 point game against the reigning Premiers.

Yes, you know that it was a good performance, when we get to Thursday and nobody is calling for anyone's head.

Disagree with no changes as Lloyd had a very ordinary game and contributed stuff all in attack or defence. The weakest link by a country mile. The quicker the VFL side plays, the more likely our talent will take his place. I really think he is done

Logan Morris has just been ruled out for the Lions. A week ago, I would've settled for a narrow loss. Now I'll probably be disappointed if we didn't win by at least a few goals. And yes, I am aware that the Lions still have a gun midfield and plenty of depth, but still, we really should have advantages in both defence and attack.

I agree, wing/sm fwd is the deepest role in the team, we should be rotating under performance

The "problem" with Lloyd is he will kick 2 goals and buy himself a month, when others should be given opportunity

No change to team, which was expected.

And certainly preferable to Brisbane's five forced changes.

Still plenty of good players in that Brisbane team. The pressure is on us.

The one advantage the Lions have, from their 5 forced changes, they will feel they have nothing to loose.
The Swans will feel they should win well. So if things don't go well early , the pressure will build.
Whilst I agree Lloyd was very ordinary last week, he is resilient player and tends to find a way.
I expect him to bounce back and play well.

Lloydy has been a great servant but now he’s done- best to play him in the ressies to help our youngsters and so make way for our lads to gain experience in the seniors. It happens to every footballer as Father Time catches all of us.
