I thought a draw would have been a fair result. Neither team really deserved to win.

Once again the Blues stop scoring after half-time. A good team would have buried them in the 3rd. Hey wait, that happened last week!

I thought I saw "prime time thriller" in an Age headline about the game this morning but it looks to have been edited, perhaps because someone pointed out that it wasn't.

It just seems like there is going to be an absolute carnage on the blow outs this year. I think the teams are unable to deal with the handballs and the running teams. The forward handball and overlap play means you would be absolutely short every time you are faced with the quick handball at marking situations. The only team that would probably do well are the ones who have a lot of the 2 way runners. And if the half forwards can roll back and provide the extra in defence. Not sure if they have the tanks to do that. We need to keep ours as fresh as possible through the year. By September th best teams would have figured the best strategy out. The one that we should do more often is be outside the 5 m

It was good to see the pies beaten but disappointing in Freo in its lost to cats. Coach complaining about round 0 and rnd 1 fixturing with teams who played rnd 0 playing teams who did not play in the opening rnd.

Good on the Dees. They’ve invested in the top end of the draft for a few years now, made some big off season calls with some big name players, got a coach in from a good system, and played like a team refreshed.

As for the Saints, a joke of a club. TDK was given an absolute bath by Gawn, Silvagni proved himself the average footballer he’s always been and the modern game has passed Ross by.

Yes, I was thinking what questions I'd like to hear at his press conference. One would be, "Ross, do you think you reached your coaching peak in 2010?"

Others would be, "Finals, are they still a realistic possibility?" and "You've been quite outspoken in regards to the northern academies, in your opinion, are players from NSW and Queensland inherently better than Victorians?"
