Match Thread Sydney v Brisbane Rd 1

I’ll start. That handball out of the middle by Gus to Heeney for the Amartey goal was something.

Electric footy from the boys, they’re all having a crack. Good to see Curnow unselfishly giving off to Warner. Bloody great quarter.

I am having a great time at the SCG tonight - one question - what happened to Grundy? He was on the ground!

Just saw the replay, Cameron sniped his ribs outside of the contest. Might be something in that.

Seriously impressive first half. The lions really are missing the guys down back a lot, but our pressure is wildly good, our handball game on, and our workrate right up. Playing seriously good team footy and Brisbane to this point have had no answers.

Got to keep it up for the 4 quarters, but so far there has only been one team in it.

Happened a long way off the play. Ball was way down field, so could very much be in trouble

It looked like he briefly dislocated his shoulder. I reckon he’ll miss 3-4 weeks.

Heeney has a minor hamstring strain, I think.

                      They’ll both be okay.

My other worry is Logan pulled up sore from a late contest. Looked hobbly and stressed by it, and didn’t see him in the circle when they sung the song. Fingers crossed it is just a knock and in no way a repeat of what he’s had.

Had the base of his calf bandaged in the rooms afterwards. I’d be surprised if he plays next week. (Unless it was just strapping that became visible once he’d removed his socks.)
