I thought that was a solid enough win in the end, under trying conditions. GWS came at them in the third but just couldn't kick a goal...Swans came home strong when it mattered. Blakey's running goal would have lifted the roof if there was one.

Got the feeling a little storm might bubble up on the way to the game - an unseasonably warm afternoon suddenly became cool, cloudy and breezy. There was a stiff breeze across the ground towards the members all night. The rain was the annoying kind; just enough to make you think about seeking shelter, without being a downpour (save for about 5-10 minutes at half-time). Lightning was briefly close but never felt on top of the ground, but the weather rules are what they are.

I had the pleasure of watching Grundy's tap work close up from the Ladies concourse in the last quarter, and it is sublime. I did have a giggle at the Sheldrick goal which came courtesy of a throw visible from 80 metres away.

Good to see these Swans not spooked by a derby storm, as opposed to the 2014 team!

We have become the chaos team in offense. We like to get the ball in f50 more often and maybe dirty ball at times compared to Longmire years. And I think we have the personnel to deal with the marking contest work in f50 and the ground ball getters this year.
however, we are probably leaving our back door open and we nearly got found out in the third quarter. I think we do turnover the ball quite often in forward half and even though we are ranked no. 1 defensive team I think we need to tighten up the defense a lot more than we did this week. The license that players like Blakey and Bice has in offense means that we need aggressive rolling back through the wings.
Rampe not being there probably did not help.

agree need to cover defence besides attacking. Roberts, Bice and LLoyd in fwd half too much and not atching where there opponent is.

I watched the replay last night and it appeared that GWS shots at goal came from a fair way out, so our last line of defence held up really well. McCartin played a top game. Mills is playing very good footy apart from from the odd brain fade. His spoiling and intercepts were first class. We seem to be a very fit side and are finishing games off well. I want to give a big wrap to Sam Wicks. He plays some desperate footy and is prepared to take on the opposition forwards with his dash out of defence and chase and run down tackles. He works really hard at ground level to prevent forwards getting the ball outside.

The 41 point win is about what we should have achieved given injuries to key GWS players. Last year it was us on the end of the injuries but so far lady luck has been on our side and other sides are racking them up. As my old mate Ludwig says, luck plays a big part in our game.

Carlton supporters said Curnow was not a team player and didn't work up the field. Looks like a team player with us. But for a few poor passes to him he could have kicked 5.

The thing we have to get right is the stand rule. 3x50 metre penalties, one goal, is not acceptable.

I have no idea why the commentators were getting so excited every time Stringer got within 20m of the ball. Hes so lazy and has almost no impact on the game as I saw it.

Coaches votes for the game. It seems like everybody agrees that Blakey was BOG and McInerney wasn't far behind.

They'll be taking votes off each other, while at the Pies or the Bulldogs, nobody is really taking votes off Daicos or Bontempelli. I was going to include Butters in that sentence, but is he still eligible?
