Good to get the win and a bit to work on.

Our defence has been great and Tom is a huge out.

We wont get away with as much against the better sides with turnover, not really a finals brand but id take the win

    Can't be unreal every week

It was a tremendous win bc notwithstanding Grundy is so
consistently reliable, Max is still the finest ruckman in
the comp and was v good again tonight.
Melbourne have some livewire smalls to take his taps.
I’m hugely satisfied with this performance.
36 goals for the game was very impressive .
      M. Rosa is such a cool pickup, hes got all the elusive skills.

Great game today. I thought we did a few stupid things and should have put them away in the 3rd. I don't like the volleyball knockons, they seem very unproductive. Kosi is a great player-, so glad I got to see him live it was a treat. Brodie was great but seemed exhausted at the end. I think our mids were disappointing, but everybody stood up to make up for that. I miss Errol...

No I think he's been doing a few good things during the year. He got a chance today and took it which is what Good players do. Good for him and good for us. Very impressive, a very worthwhile pick up for us I think.

Looks like Grundy brought a few people along for his 250th.

I didn't get to see the song on 7mate, because as soon as the siren sounded, they rushed off to Border Security. WTF? I mean, who on earth would be anxiously anticipating the start of Border Security?

The match ended about 8 minute past 6 pm, possibly because so many goals were kicked. The last quarter with 13 goals went for 38 minutes. Other three quarters went for about 98 minutes total.

The AFL needs to review the start time for Sunday afternoon matches to ensure more of them finish before 6 pm. Start time of 3:10 pm, not 3:15 pm.

Matches that used to go for 2 hours and 35 minutes are now taking nearly 20 minutes longer.

The time for a restart after a goal seems to have blown out just so the broadcaster can get 30 seconds of ads in and then show a replay. It used to be 30 seconds. I doubt this is the main reason why matches are running longer, but it has to be a factor. I noticed that there were not always ads after goals during the last quarter.

If the AFL is concerned at the length of matches, delays caused by the broadcaster must be included.

Ronke also kicked 5 in a game later that season but was cut down by chronic injury he simply couldn't shake.

If you mean you hope Rosas isn't cut down by chronic injury then I'm with you. If you mean anything else by your comment then it's a pretty crappy comment.

My greatest concern is oue defence (i know we badly missed Tm Mc) but its not the marking as we go alright there but its the way we play defewnce when we are attacking. Our wingers are rarely close to their man (roberts in particular) and the rebound happens too much NEED to greatly approve here. Dont everyone drift forward. keep players behind the ball or else we will be caught out eventually.

Just watched the Mini Match on the AFL site, channel 7 commentators. Great to be able to attend a game (or two, also took in the reserves match) and not have to turn down the tv volume to avoid the Vic-centric, biased commentary, e.g. “Van Rooyen was a bit stiff there” as Bice punched the ball away, from the front position, looking at the ball…,. I’ll try the Fox commentary on Kayo this evening, they can’t be as bad as the 7 bellends.

Good win in the end. Should have been out of sight at 3/4 time.
Melbourne got a few very easy centre clearances that resulted in goals, which is credit to both Gawn and Heath but shows we need to be more accountable in the middle.
We also have a bit of work to on defending when we have the ball to make it harder for the opposition to back the other way when we turn the ball over.

                            Coaches votes

                            Rosas Jr - 10
                            Grundy - 8
                            Heeney - 5
                            Pickett - 4
                            McInerney - 2
                            Amartey - 1.

Seems fair enough, though you'd wouldn't argue if Blakey pinched one or two.

                              Coaches votes.

                              10 Malcolm Rosas Jr (SYD)
                              8 Brodie Grundy (SYD)
                              5 Isaac Heeney (SYD)
                              4 Kysaiah Pickett (MELB)
                              2 Justin McInerney (SYD)
                              1 Joel Amartey (SYD)

With the Brownlow largely being a midfielder's award these days, it'll be interesting to see if seven goals will be enough to get Rosas the three votes.

I think we may have missed Cunninghams influence. He knows his defense pretty well and is a great hand there when e going is tough. I would not keep Cootee over Cunningham.
Bice needs to be told to beeline the player and the ball rather than be smart and anticipate the pass. Many times he reads the bounce of the ball wrongly and at times tries to anticipate the movement of the player and gets it wrong. His tackling is non existent. Just get a hard nose on top of your kicking.
If McCartin, Errol and Braeden and Cunningham are available and fit and firing I am not sure who will miss out.
                                maybe Cootee, Melican, ?Bice ?Lloyd.
I think Braeden will find it difficult to come in.
