Buchanan's "Almost" Goal of the Ages.

Geez if only that one went through.

The lead up from bucky was one of the most amazing things i have ever seen.

Out sprinting Giansiricusa who's no slouch, tapping it forward and keeping it in play, gathering the ball and handballing over the top of a dogs player then the sprint and spinning gather into a pack of 2 dogs.

I thought i was seeing Paul Kelly out there again.

It should win behind of the year . Just a pity he couldn't get the ball over Harris' hands, coz it would have been a pretty tough goal to beat for goal of the year.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I'm sure he had an unchecked comrade in the goal square in his view when he gathered the ball the final time. Fantastic effort, though.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I thought it might slip by undetected. Vigilant as always, comrade Lobster.

Best piece of play I've seen this year. Hopefully there is a Play if the Year award to be given. No other sport could replicate how exciting that was. Well done Monty.

tapping to one's advantage or to space where you can run to & pick it up is a simple yet effective. this technique should be used more often. Its creative and you are controling the situation. It looks great, gives a great boost if it brings a goal too. It's better than picking it up when the opponent is so close that he can grab you the minute you pick up the ball - it's no advantage to pick it up unless there is spare split half second to pick it up and hand ball to targets.
you are thinking & time it well, Monty!

It so deserved a goal. The MA Noble crowd, who were lucky enough to watch it right in front of us, still applauded loudly regardless of not scoring a goal. As Jeffers said, it was Kelly like class.

How exciting is it to see so many players in Sydney playing so well at the moment. And what a buzz to read stuff like this today (Herald Sun):
SPECULATION a second straight flag could soon be heading to the harbour city is sure to increase after Sydney recorded its fourth straight AFL victory with a clinical 26-point defeat of the in-form Western Bulldogs at the SCG tonight.

It took 72 years for the Swans to break their premiership drought, but coach Paul Roos will need to hose down expectations of another in 2006 after a 17.14 (116) to 14.6 (90) triumph took Sydney to 5-3 for the season.

We were 2-3. But we were also 1-3 the week before, making this the fourth straight win. Geelong game was the week before the Brisbane game.
