Swans chat Team Selection: R14 v Port Adelaide @ AO

Another danger game against a mid table team with our expansive injury list. Hope Lizard & Bice pull up ok.

Think we'll play it safe with our limited choices. The Bye can't come soon enough.

    IN: Hamling, Co Warner
    OUT: McCartin (inj), McInerney (inj)

    Emerg: Ladhams, Dattoli, Snell

Adams will be available for selection for the first time this year. He is underdone, so he will be building match fitness in the VFL. It will be good to see him back playing. Source: Team whispers: Dees weigh up Mihocek replacement, Swan (Adams) to return, Pies make Maynard call (afl.com.au).

On selection for the seniors, we have to bring in a defender and a midfielder. I think it will be Hamling and Corey Warner, but I wouldn't mind seeing Snell get his first game.

This has danger game written all over it. Port's form actually hasn't been that bad, despite their position on the ladder. They've only had one or two bad losses, their percentage is sound, they've been in most games and lost a few by less than a kick. Given what they have at their disposal, they've done ok. They've actually conceded fewer points than anyone bar Fremantle.

The main issue is they can't score. If we notch our usual century, we'll be fine - but we shouldn't assume it'll be an automatic walkover.

This is the most likely - I feel it in the water.
However as the forecast is rain, we might also rest one of the talls and bring in Cootee/Corey Warner.

I think with Aliir and Esava playing well, they will go with what’s worked last game and put Logan on the wing. And that means keep McLean in the team. But again who knows. But Hamling and Cunningham seem to the obvious ones. There was a rumour that we may be getting Snell in the team.
They have a great defensive structure and we will need our A game to get through.
We have great depth this year than the previous years. Hopefully it works.

Minimal changes, with Hamling and Cunningham coming in for McCartin and McInerney.

Joel Hamling and Harry Cunningham come into the side for Round 14 against Port Adelaide.

I wonder whether that might mean Kyle runs through the middle a bit more, with Cunningham playing back.

McCartin is doing well. Swans downplay McCartin concerns as injuries bite (afl.com.au).
