    Half way to the finals

Lets not get ahead of ourselves now..we also won 5 in a row in 2001 and I can't even remember how that ended. Kicked out first week of the finals If i recall. Anyway we've notched up our 6th win and general belief is that you need 12+ wins to play in September so we're half way there

Heard BBH interviewed after the game. Said they are yet to play the top sides so they are not getting carried away.

          Keeping the lid on it.

Our matches seem to be arranged in ascending order of difficulty.

            Round 1 - Essendon
Rounds 2 to 7 - mostly sides outside the eight
Rounds 8 to 11 - other sides in the middle of the ladder
Round 12 to 15 - Collingwood, Freo, Adelaide, Eagles

The fact is, we have a dream draw.
If we had had a typical pre-season we should be 9-0 right now.

The best teams we play twice are Melbourne, Geelong and Richmond!

...oh, and we play Adelaide, Collingwood and Fremantle at home.

Our only pencilled in loss is West Coast at Subiaco, (and Geelong at skilled if they go Lazarus).

Throw in Rd 11 v St Kilda with that group. Very lucky to have most of these games at home. Great challenge and one I am so looking forward to watching.

The Swans story is best illustrated by two statistics this year: 16th for disposals, first for inside 50s.

It says no team in the business makes better use of its opportunities.

The Swans are third on the "points for" table from the lowest number of possessions.

A major difference this year to previous.
Captain Logic is not steering this tugboat.

Whilst you, as usual, focus on the stats, I felt this was more important:

The team reflects the remarkable serenity we see from coach Paul Roos in the coach's box.

It rarely loses composure, even under scoreboard pressure. It's as if the players know things will turn out right if they keep doing what Roos has convinced them is the right thing to do.

That's the return on the coach's faith. Unlike many of his counterparts, his players don't play in fear of making a mistake and incurring his wrath.

Such an important difference from, say, Laidley, Kennett (OK, I know he's not the coach) et al. Sometimes I wonder what Paul Roos is up to, but I almost always come back to thinking he knows more about it than I do. Might even apply to Chambers!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I read the other parts and I thought they were very important, however I was comparing this year to last year, as I said in my post!!

I always look at our position after round 7. The soft draw certainly helped, because if we had copped the (current) top three teams in the 1st 7 rounds it would have certainly been worse than the 4-3 that was achieved. After R7, the requirement is to play every other team once. Last year in those last 15 games we went 12-3, and I can't see any reason we can't do as well this year. Where will we end up with 16-6?
