Not a bad assessment Liz. However I think you were a bit harsh on Crawford. I think he was seeing stars for the rest of the game after his team mate nearly knocked his head of his shoulders. It took him a good 2-3 minutes to even be able to get back onto his feet.

Mind you hard nuts like LRT were able to come back later in the game after heavy knocks and still continue to have an influence.

Good work Liz - couple of things:

      - we shouldn't be surprised that the Hawks did well at the clearances - Everitt/Hidge/Mitchell may be the best ruck combination in the AFL or at least close to Cox/Judd/Cousins. As you pointed out, tight checking ensured those clearances didn't hurt us
      - can't find the link but there is an excellent article in the australian today with Clarkson extolling Fosdike's selfless attitude as a perpetual "bench-warmer" when he could be in any other team's starting midfield line-up. So Clarkson knows well and good who Fossie is

Generally, Clarkson understands pretty well I think the gulf between the Swans & his boys - supposedly they spent a fair time in the rooms talking about the Swans & what the Hawks need to learn from them to become a better side.

They are certainly a very undisciplined team at times with all of their "leaders" involved in some spiteful incidents - but at least you could say they play with passion!

It has been a disgraceful performance by some of Hawthorns senior players over the last couple of weeks. Vandenberg, Guerra and Crawford should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

Good article. He rates us the best in the comp - so must be a good judge.

Not too happy with the scoreline, Liz. In fact, horrified.

In one of the most disturbing coincidences in AFL history, Hawthorn downed us with identical quarter-by-quarter scores to those that we recorded against Geelong a few weeks back.

LOL - good spot. I was trying to load the article last night and my internet connection was playing up. I couldn't open the AFL.com.au page to obtain the quarter by quarter scores, umpires or crowd. I think Cliff spotted the last two when he put the pictures in earlier today but he obviously didn't spot I'd not updated the scores!!!

                Will go and fix now.

So much for us Swans being "boring" when the last few weeks have seen us play anything but.

We'll grow in confidence with every game, a sign of a team on the way to greater success.
