Settle it once and for all...

Matthews is a hack...McVeigh deserves a run...Moore, Schmidt and Willoughby need to have a crack...Dempster would be a great acquisition across the HB line...Richards is no good...Swans only need one ruckman....

Some of the opinions that may or ay not be held by some posters on this board.

Once and for all, assuming everyone is fit and healthy, name who you would select to be in out best 22 (and positions) to carry us to back-to-back in 2006.

    Here's mine (after much debate):

    Backs
    Richards Barry Crouch
    Kennelly LRT Bolton

    Centres
    Goodes Bolton Schnieder

    Forwards
    O'Keefe Hall Fosdike
    Davis O'Loughlin Buchanan

    Rucks
    Ablett Kirk Jolly

    Bench
    Chambers Malceski Dempster Williams

    Emergencies
    Matthews McVeigh Schmidt
    Sanford Wheeler 4 President!

If that the case, I'd want Doyle on the bench instead of Chambers.

Other than that I'd agree with that side, maybe Dempster or Malceski on a wing and Schneids to start on the interchange.

Then again, it's only an opinion, and they're like bums....
I hear not what you say, for the thunder of who you are.

Dempster for Richards (Sean is after all a Premiership player). Then McVeigh for Dempster on the bench.
Dolye in for Chambers. Chambers to emergencies.

Chamber to the glue factory in my opinion...

Not that it matters with modern footy, but I reckon Davis pretty much only ever plays HFF, FF or in the midfield and never plays as an old style FP.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

quite often I've seen a stoppage at halfback, and the midfield converges to form a pack around the ball with Hall in the centre, O'Loughlin at CHF, and Davis at FF one on one with their opponents.

whats the story with Doyle anyways? Is he coming back to replace torture or what because i can't stand watching this bloke play another helpless game.
Forget about Hall, it's all about Bradshaw

63 possessions says I want to see Schmidt get a few consecutive games.

Doyle's there before torture. At least the latter has shown some resilience to injury.

Vogels in the past has been a pretty good package, just misses a bit more run that we need in today's game, and quick forward movement in attack that he had when he first came in for us..

For me, I'd like to tweak the players map to..

                            FB: LRT Barry Kennelly
                            HB: Crouch Buchanan C Bolton
                            C: Goodes J Bolton Matthews
                            HF: Richards Hall Williams
                            F: Davis O'Loughlin O'Keefe
                            R: Ablett Kirk Jolly
                            Bench Chambers Fosdike Schneider Schmidt
                            Emergencies Vogels Spriggs Laidlaw McVeigh

                            In: Schmidt Vogels Spriggs Laidlaw
                            Out: Malceski

Bit more run that way off half-back on rebound especially if Roos come out off the blocks on the run (probably final quarters knowing how the shinboners play), but if we want to be the more aggressive team first off, then probably swap Buchanan with Richards..

What amazing lateral thinking. Some people on this site just take my breath away.

                              Buchy at CHB, what genius.

It makes a lot of sense even if it looks downright hilarious on TV with Buchy standing next to Drew Petrie.

What it means is we have a lot more run off HB. To heck with the fact that North might kick it in the air to Petrie to exploit the height advantage. Buchy will run him off his feet adding great impetous to our back kicking on the backline.

I have a better idea. Why dont we put LRT on Boomer Harvey to counter balance the height problem described above. Buchy gets it and back kicks to LRT who out marks Boomer.

That will frustrate the hell out of Laidley.

Keep up the profound selection ideas folks.
