Smart move by Roos - especially with the week off coming up, better to rest him and worst case scenario is he does play Saints match and will be fit for the Pies.
I would have liked to have seen Schmidt come into the side rather than Dempster if this was just a one week thing. Although if they were a little concerned about Craig Bolton, Dempster gave us the extra cover.
The big concern I have about having stability in the team having only used 24 players this year is that if we suffer a few injuries we have no idea about the abilities at the top level of the guys in waiting. Even though Vogels, Moore, Bevan played last year, we have no idea of their form at the top level this time around. Nor do we know what the likes of Willoughby, Schmidt etc can offer in the seniors. The last thing we want is to have to find out at the pointy end of the season.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
I was surprised they brought Dempster in for Willo, thought in that case they might have given Schmidt a run.
Who knows maybe Roos will rest one or two players next week before the break and bring in Schmidt or a youngster to have a run.
When Dempster pulled up at one stage I was like our luck that we replace someone injured with another injured person (that's when we were down 32 points) but then he came back on and played the rest of the match.
