I suggest you watch a replay if you can bear the horrible game until the last 10 minutes.

A lot of times when Chambers was rucking at stoppages there were no Swans players anywhere nearby who he could hit it out to. I made that comment exactly and he tapped it straight down to Schneider as I said it.

[Apologies for so many sentences ending in prepositions but I am tired!]

My comment to my mate was "Chambers is going to get a kick...oh he handballed it."

I think he got over excited and didn't know what to do, so he just gave it to someone else by hand.

It would just put the ball-ups into an infinite loop.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I look at Chambers the same way as LRT at the start of last season. He could come good or he could remain a plodder. I stayed optimistic on LRT and I reckon I'll be doing the same on Chambers.
I agree with whoever said trust Roos. Look at how guys like McVeigh, Fosdike and Malceski are now playing. Roos flat out knows when he sees promise.

The 3 blokes that showed no poise or footy smarts on the weekend were....wait for it......

                            BENNY
                            JOLLY
                            CHAMBERS

All 3 had the potential to kill off our chances and did their sad best.

We have nearly the least skillful ruck combo in AFL. This has to get better or we will be shown up.

Benny is not fast enough by hand, foot or brain for AFL. We are mad for harbouring him. The game is too fast for him...STOP

                              HITOUTS
                              1. Peter Everitt Hawthorn 228
                              2. Dean Cox West Coast Eagles 221
                              3. Jeff White Melbourne 216
                              4. Darren Jolly Sydney Swans 212

                              19. Paul Chambers Sydney Swans 105

Jolly was not good around the ground until the final quarter. However, the hitouts weren't the main problem - but rather there was noone there for the Swans when the ball came out. The Roos simply did much better than us in clearances for most of the game.

Anyone who thinks Chambers and Jolly in the ruck is our weak spot needs to check the Hit Out stats that Go Swannies has referred to. They are one of the most effective ruck combinations in the AFL. You can argue whether they tap to advantage, but even if they tap randomly every hitout they get is one the opposing ruck doesn't, effectively negating the influence of the whoever they ruck against.
