Here is my definitions of Deliberate out of bounds.
Trying to rush a point and missing is not deliberate.
Sure, they may have been going for the line, but to what advantage?
A ball in right next to the goal square?
Not likely.
If a player kicks the ball down the line as Ablett did, and he is under pressure to get rid of the ball, then this is also not deliberate..
I could go on and on, but in principle I agree with the rule, but it needs to have it's 'distance constraints' removed, and allow for the umpires to totally make the call as to what the players intention was.
If they disguise it well enough, then good on 'em.
When you handball the ball out whilst being slung in a 360 by a player is NOT deliberate.
