Looked to me that the first one was a brain fart. Everybody knows that men can't do two things at once, so looking for an option up-field and bouncing at the same time was out of the question

Second one IMO was a poor umpiring decision.
Correct on all counts, except the "men can't do two things at once". Not True.

It was an appalling decision. The player wasnt even moving at the time he was pinged by the ump. Perhaps a new rule was introduced that not only limits how far a player can move with the ball without bouncing it but also how long he can hold it. Pity no one but the umps was told about the rule.
Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.

I couldn't believe it. I nearly swore at the TV. "How can he be running to far when he is standing still?"

An instrument with only 9 notes! Surely it's easy to play?

Yeah - I think running too far is a rule that has mostly been forgotten in the modern game. In just about every round you would be able to pick out at least 10 cases where a player should have been pinged but hasn't. I am not saying that the boys didn't run too far (actually, I don't reckon Tadgh did) but the umpires are very selective when they enforce this rule. I think the seocond one was paid cos the umpire had a rush of blood to the head and remembered the earlier one. All in all, the rule is not paid very consistently so I think you are pretty stiff any time you get pinged...
