    Looking ahead...

I was thinking today about trade week, now i know its not for awhile but I can't stand the thoughts of Chambers being at Sydney so then i was thinking about ruckman. One man came to mind, Michael Gardiner hasn't played a senior game this year because of the good form of Big Cox & Seaby in the ruck.

Would'nt ya think the swans would have a good look at him & the eagles might be up for a trade, also remember his only 26 & still has alot of footy to play.

Gardiner, at the SWANS, are you kidding?

Is there a way we can trade posters off this site?

Has not been on the field much to rate him as a player in recent times. I will stick with Chambers over Gardnier thanks.

Gardiner hasn't played a senior game this year because

            a) he was banished by his club for refusing to curb his nightlife
            b) he was suspended by the WAFL
            c) he got himself injured.

Gardiner used to be a magnificent player but I doubt he'll ever get the most out of himself (partly due to bad luck with injuries) and I think we've probably seen the best of him.

Nothing to see here move along........................

If we are going to trade for a ruckman at years end then it will be Spider as an un contracted player in the pre season draft.

We do have a good track record in making footy's "bad boys" come good up in Sydney - I can think of two such very recent cases. But Michael Gardiner...I strongly doubt he will ever be up to it again. He is a toatally different sort of bad boy to both Bazz and Plugger and I doubt that anyone would be able to settle the bloke down. I agree that we need a good ruckman, but we don't need to go for blokes who are in the bargain basement for good reason.
                    Go you mighty BLOODBOYS!

God, haven't you watched a tape of the Grand Final yet??? There was a reason why Gardiner stayed at Full Forward all day and it wasn't because it was his "set position for the day and the Eagles were going to stick to the plan come hell or high water", it was because he CAN'T ruck anymore because his knees went at the same time Goodes' knees went and that made him useless at the position. He is no better than a pinch hit option for 5 minutes in a match thats all.

The Eagles picking Gardiner over Quinten Lynch was a mistake that we will forever thank them for ...

allowed us to free up Leo Barry for that mark and allowed up to use LRT on Hansen at CHB to great effect as we saw. I certainly agree it was a very big stuff up on the Eagles part.

It's a bit too late for the Eagles, they lost the Grand Final and only had themselves to blame. As for Michael Gardiner, I don't think any AFL team would even bother giving him an opportunity to play at that level. Michael Embley would probably be elevated from the Rookie list if the Eagles are desperate...
I only support one team: The SYDNEY SWANS!!!!! :adore
