    Jake Williams

Here's a snippet on Greg Williams' son, following on from a recent thread on upcoming father and son drafting opportunities.

Greg Williams is quoted as saying he'd prefer Carlton, due to distance, but the article also notes that Carlton have two other eligible sons they could take this year.

The article also notes that neither club has yet made an approach to the Williams re taking Jake in this year's draft.

Carlton is hamstrung to a degree because in a year with a bountiful crop you would be reluctant to commit to more than one father/son unless they're a bona fide gun. Sacrificing a third rounder is not a big deal but a second and first pick would be. Jake apparently is on the improve according to a separate snippet I saw in another paper. Given his father's late blossoming he may be the best of Carlton's options to swoop on but he might be worth a punt for the Swans if overlooked by them.

I read the article and Williams said he would prefer his boy stay in Melboure as he will still be doing his VCE next year.
Maybe the fact that the kid would have a much better chance of playing senior footy earlier at Carlton also has something to do with it.
