    Swans fan needs help please

I sit in the brewongle and have a lady sitting two rows in front.
She is constantly going at me for yelling and screaming at the Swans. I dont pick on Swans it is encouragement - simple like Go Swans Come on Swans get going etc.

I have been attacked twice verbally by her "you silly old woman" or the other night came right up to me and said there were 50 people around her saying how bad I was etc.

I thought I was at a football game (not a ballet performance) and in a public place so I could yell and scream and support my team?
    Love those Swans

Stick to your guns jan. Maybe as something to show her the silliness of her ways, you should take a bottle of chardonnay with you to the next game and offer it to her - sounds like it would be accepted gleefully.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Thats disgraceful! Make as much noise as you want, its your right by paying for entry to the ground, you can give hell to whoever you choose on that field!

You need to move slightly around, us people in the Churchill have no problem in letting verbals fly... within reason of course, try and keep swearing to a minimum because of the kiddies.

          Scream louder.

Last week at the Canberra game, I was in the cheersquad and got told off by the old codger sittimg in front of me for saying the word "bloody" twice. I thought it was incredibly weak.

You go to the matches for the atmosphere man, why go when you want complete silence during the whole match? The louder the better, so keep on screaming!

Has it ever occurred to you that you might be a feral?

I always sit really quiet ly at the footy and never shout out things!!!!!!! My golly gosh I would die if I couldn't shout at the footy...it is the area in my life where I can shout at people without a law suit being the result.

Dean Solomon was the brunt of my shouting in Rd 1 and my daughter said she had never seen me like that. She said she knows that I am naturally aggressive but have to curtail it due to my job and the expectations of how woman behave in society and she could see that it was my only area of release. Very perceptive I thought.

So say something like"I've worked really hard to be able to do this...don't make me feel guilty"

It depends on whether you shout on occasion or whether you are constantly shouting non stop.

It depends on your voice and whether it is really grating and annoying.

It depends on whether you are yelling out crap or general comments.

I sat two rows in front of a Richmond supporter the other week. He yelled out constantly, at the top of his booming and annoying feral voice, and basically talked crap the whole time. I bet he thought 'who cares, I'm at the football I can yell as loud as I want'. I bet everyone around him thought 'what a tosser'!

Tuesday I am not a feral and can assure you of that.
I feel you have no better comment so dont bother to comment.
I asked for help in dealing with the situation not dumb rudeness.

We have an old moll called Ivy who barracks for the Saints in Melbourne who continually rings up radio and says "leave my boys alone" when someone has a go at them.

We all need our Ivys in this world but they should keep their traps shut and mind their own business. Unless you are aiming abuse directly at her and calling her long deceased grandmother horrible names, the next time she comes up to you politely tell her to mind her own business and get back to her knitting, or if she doesn't like that tell her to go .... home and bake a pudding.

And that is what you do. No point arguing with them. If no abuse is aimed at you then let him barrack how he wants. Soon as you start jumping in where you dont belong that is when fights start.
