When Doyle was illegally taken out by Burgoyne at the SCG a couple of years ago, he was totally dominating the game..all his injuries have come from that incident and the recuperation.
If he was able to play at a third of the level he was at then, we would be very happy campers!

No doubt Doyle could play, but with almost 3 years of consequtive injuries he realistically is only a 5% of being our 2nd ruck solution. But 5% is enough for me to live, to dream, in hope.
I'd go so far as to say a fit doyle is a significant variable for back to back flags.

The big difference with Doyle is that he will be able to spend some time sitting at FF instead of spending all his non-ruck time on the bench (as per Chambers). It is just a matter of him stringing together a few games in the Magoos to get his fitness up enough to be able to do that ruckwork around the ground. I think that bringing him in for the 'pies would be a couple of games too soon.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Doyle has kicked bags of goals in single games which exceed Torture's career goals. He can mark the ball as well. He can provide a hard to match up forward option. In summary, he can play. Even if half fit he could do as well as Torure in relieving the Jollster for a few minutes.

There's no doubt that Doyle is far more useful than Chambers in so many ways. But if he gets injured and only plays 10 minutes in a game, then Chambers for 40-50 is better.

I can't believe he has kicked around 5 career goals. I want to see how he managed to kick it between the big sticks, let alone kicking it at all. Even if he actually kicks the ball nowadays, I'd be jumping out of my seat!

He looks like a reasonable kick in warm-ups. He's just too slow to get ball to boot in games.

It's quite a long distance, to be fair.

If you have it, watch the game where we played Geelong in 2003. He managed to boot 2 goals against us from set shots!
