Bay 16 SCG in the rain.

Were any RWOers in bay 16 in the rain on Saturday night? I heard the "Go, Barry Go!" chant when he kicked a goal and wondered if katie-scarlett was behind me.

I had to invest in the ultimate fashion accessory, a plastic poncho.

I am so impressed with all those that sat in the rain with their umbrellas and ponchos. I was well undercover but it was amazing to see so many staying to the death. You could have all easily been tempted to leave and watch it somewhere since it was on live. Big thumbs up to true fans!

Actually Missy, myself & co were in bay 16, come to think of it GS.

I'm used to sitting in bay 17 so when you first said you were in bay 16, it didn't click straight away.

We sit in Bay Hatley and ended up completely soaked. My 5 y.o. son stuck it out until the start of the final quarter but then had to be taken by his mother to watch it from under the stands as it just got silly. I moved to sit with my dad and brother in the next bay over, who were also soaked, and it was fun to sit with them as I haven't sat with them in years to watch the footy. It was kind of nice to be sitting in the rain with my son, then end up sitting in the rain with my own dad and realizing that he and I used to sit in the rain to watch the footy when I was young... family fun for everyone!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

Would have allowed half an hour to find a TV and still not miss anything.

I was in the front row of bay 16 on"Yabba's hill" so I am sure it was you sitting about 4 or 5 rows back. I had my father-in-law with me, it was his first game of AFL. Even though we lost, he did enjoy it being so close at the end, he was even getting in to it when Schneider kicked that last goal.

Sitting in the rain took me back to doing that at the Lake Oval in Albert Park when I was a teenager.

I was up in the churchhill stand right on the balastrade and was getting wet with my 3 year old boy,and was felling sorry for all you guys in the rain(not saint supporters) the first time i have been to sydney to watch footy in the rain.
Now this is a thread that i would expect on the ego -centric, wank session that is redandwhiteonline.com...

Are you allowed to use an umbrella at the SCG? They are banned at Subi.

Perth is a desert, why would anyone ever carry an umbrella?

They're banned at the MCG too, and Telstra dome for some reason.

Mind you smoking is banned at the MCG and Telstradome and there were people smoking at the SCG on Staurday night.

When I was in primary school, I remember umbrellas were banned then because people could start fights with them and people could get accidentally hurt if you open it in someone's face.

Is that why it's banned @ the MCG/TD/Subi too?
