    Let's go to Bonnie Doon!

So the Aints have gone to Bonnie Doon for their mid-season break. WTF! Speaking as an ignorant New South Welshie, I thought Bonnie Doon only existed in Australian movie-land. No! Apparently it is a real place!

Who has been there? What is there (besides big power lines)? Can anyone shed any light?
"History is what it is. I mean, you only look back on it. If you don't create it, well what's the point of looking back on it?"

(Justin Leppitsch "thinking" about a "historic hat-trick" during Grand Final week 2003)

Bonnie Doon is a quaint little place - not much happens there, which is probably why Thomas chose it as their break destination - keep the boys out of trouble, that kind of thing.

We drove through on the way back from the Grand Final - My passenger (a KIWI) had no idea of my continuing "we're going to Bonnie Doon, we're going to Bonnie Doon" as she had never seen The Castle. We stayed in Wagga that night and she watched it for the first time. She gets it now.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I thought Cornflakes was taking them on a golf trip to the course just behind Eastgardens here in Sydney!

            I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

Or would it be the Formule 1 right by the airport where they can feast on Krispy Kreme doughnuts at any time of day or night?

Good point - but at St Peters you have 2 "restaurants" to choose from - The Scottish Takeaway & the American Cremated Foul/Fowl.

LOvely place on the shore of Lake Eildon, when it has water in it. I conducted a wedding at caravn park, I think it was called Peppin Point, then the reception was a cruise on the lake, lovely day. Pity my cousins marriage didn't last more than a couple of years.

I'm not sure how you do things in the Salvos but I don't think cousins should marry anyway.

I should have known to add "my cousin married some guy she is not related to". After all she's not Tasmanian.
