    Will Tadhg go?

Not sure if this was mentioned in previous posts, but I saw on FoxFooty last night Seymour saying that Tadgh is "most likely" to stay. Not sure if that is from inside info or just speculation?

... HOPE HE STAYS!! WE NEED HIM!!

.. he's been a bit down in form (prob coz of family stuff I guess).. but he'll shine soon...

He said "Definately will stay". I guess he is pretty close to the club but who knows these days.

He'll only stay if they offer him a short-term contract, no more than two years. Problem is, contracts of this length are usually only reserved for the 'elderly or infirm'.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Not sure that is true. I suspect more players are on one or two year contracts than on longer ones.

I have no doubt that the Swans will be happy to accommodate Kennelly by offering him whatever term contract he wants (assuming the issue is at the bottom end of the duration range, not the top end).

Kennelly doesn't need to sign a one or two year deal only.

Nothing stopping him signing for five years and then just pulling the pin at the end of next year or the next due to family circumstances.

It won't cost the club anything and I am sure that all they would want for Kennelly is what's best for him and his family.

Could be. I just recall him saying he was offered a four-year deal, which he didn't sign because he wasn't sure whether he would decide to call it quits after a year or two. Roos has backed off, pending a firmer position.

Knowing what Kennelly's been through, I find it hard to believe the club would take a hard-line approach to any negotiations with him.

If he was indeed offered a 4 year deal, I'm sure that was the club just telling him that they value him highly and that there is a spot for him on the list for the forseeable future if he wants to stay.

At a press conference today he said he was still undecided and Roos reiterated the idea that they will respect whatever he wants to do but emphasised his importance to the club. Most players btw these days are on two year deals. The Nick Holland scenario is not very palatable to clubs unless you're Jonathan Brown or Nick Riewoldt.

Hopefully he stays for a few more years. The club should bring his family here, and problem solved!

Heard whispers that Mark McVeigh is touted to be used a trade bait by Essendon at t he end of the season. It is no secret that Mark would like to play with his brother, but what would we willing to trade for him?

That works the other way. Mark wants Jarrad at Essendon.

I think there were suggestions that Mark was interested in a move up north in either 2004 or 2005. Several Essendon fans I know believe the club is now doing their "assessments" of who they can offer as trade bait to lure uncontracted players from other clubs. I don't know who is uncontracted at the end of the season, but there may be a possibility that Mark will be offered at Sydney. I personally think Mark is a quality player and can add some spice to the team. He's 25, has class and can play in a variety of positions. Would be surprised if Essendon were interested in Jarrad.

We can keep speculating for another few months by the looks of it - he has said he won't make his decision until after the season.

He's gaaawn. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but a reliable 'friend of a very good friend' reckons his mind is made up - at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, he's missing Ireland too much and he'll go home to his family and mates (having lived in Ireland I undertstand that mentality).

Enjoy this season - unfortunately its likely to be his last...
