    O'Loughlin...

...remains one of our better players. He needs to think less about his set shots - just go back and kick. He also needs to realise that when he kicks from 30m and puts it 15 rows back that that means that when he is kicking from 45-50m out, he will get it over the pack in the goal square. He is still finding plenty of the ball and still taking marks. MO'Ls only problem at the moment is MO'L and the doubt that rattles between his ears. I cannot understand why there are people calling for him to meet the axe. He is one of about half a dozen that do not deserve to be sacked.

I thought he was quite handy when moved up onto the flank. I think Roos should try him there more often rather than at full forward.

I thought he was good up the ground, seemed to find it a bit and his chronic injuries didn't seem to affect him. He has the best of end of next year at AFL level maybe we could use him up at half forward and pushing the midfield like he was in 2002 and just play him to the ground. We need to blood a new forward badly and may give Vogels/Grundy a chance as our new full forward.

      Just an idea.

He has some of the best hands in the game for picking up the loose ball or half volley, and for feeding it off.

It looked great seeing him streaming thru the midfield.

He really did look good when he was moved up the field last night.

I didn't want to dwell on the positives last night, but MO'L's performance in the 3rd quarter up the ground was the #1 positive for mine.

Can't kick over a jam jar, of course, but there's no better player at getting the ball in traffic and farming out lightning handpasses to a player in space. Added a sense of excitement to the whole attacking unit. The perfect antidote to those who say (with some justification) 'Sydney's game plan is too predictable'.

If he feels confident enough in his fitness to play upfield, and Roos feels confident enough to let him, then he's in the best shape he's been in for many years, and the hype might be true: he might play (well) through to 2008 after all.

One of the highlights for me was a lovely kick from Bucky to Goodes, handball to MOL running past and a superb kick to O'Keefe for a goal.

Yeah, one of the 8 second highlights for us last night sadly.
