Its not all Gloom and Doom

Yeah I'm pretty pissed off losing to Collingwood but lets try and

be positive. We played very ordinary yet the Pies only just beat us.

Agreed they missed easy shots, we kicked goals in "rubbish time"

etc ,etc , I hope the coach is true to his word and gives a few

guys like Schmidt and Moore a go . Malceski must come back when

fit . Richards is soft, the game is too quick for Matthews, I'm

questioning Crouch's fitness/games sequence. Surely Doyle,

Erickson or Shaw are better options than Chambers.

Changes MUST BE MADE NOW to give new blood a chance and

to put the wind up non - performers who are dropped and also

those who are on shaky ground

Considering we only played 15-20 minutes of football and Collingwood completely dominated the game for the rest of the time, I don't think we did that badly. In fact If I was a Collingwood supporter I would be worried that we only beat an out of form Swans team by 13 points.

I know that we need to be consistent and play four quarters of football every match, the lack of that to me is the only reason we lost and is of more concern than the ineptitude of players like Mathews.

They were 40 pts up on our home ground when they stopped for the last five minutes. I think they'll be pretty satisfied, particularly considering they tore us apart when the game was there to be won.

Swans just kicked into their honourble loss mode in the last 5-7 minutes of the game.

Scoreboard flattered us, we should of lost by 60.

And THAT right there is the problem. The pies didn't "only just" beat us! They had the game sewn up pretty much at 3/4 time, and we just made the margin look respectable when they took the foot off. But by having a "respectable" margin, they can continue kidding themselves that it wasn't such a bad effort! I almost wish the Pies had been accurate, had not taken the foot off and had absolutely walloped us, just so they could stop sticking their heads in the sand about how appalling the standard of play right across the field was. And what makes it worse is that the "there will be changes" line has been trotted out again, and if it goes anything like the last couple of times, the only changes are who starts on the field and who starts on the bench - it's still the same dopey 22 running around! We give the likes of Schmidt, Vogels etc no incentive to continue performing in the ressies, and if it continues, we can kiss our generation next goodbye come season's end.

As much as I love the team, last night I hated them! They were pathetic, and my only comfort is that I've seen them play worse so I'm vaguely thankful for that!

I didn't think we would win it anyway, I hoped we would, but didn't think we would.

That pretty much echos my thoughts on the effort.

Apart from that, Nick Davis is stuggling to find the nut again after some solid early season form.
