You would think that would be a given... but to sit (or stand) mute at the game and show no emotion what so ever, it must make you wonder, wouldn't it?
Just ask any player, they would all say that they love it when the crowd gets involved, makes some noise etc. Would you prefer it to be like a Library...no talking allowed

Of course you should cheer, but that's not why you go to the game.

Personally I don't care why people go to the game. It just annoys me that they expect to go to the game and be totally intolerant to other people making noise.

If someone is sitting there making no noise, I don't turn around and ask them to cheer and make more noise.

I think that's completely fair... unless you were being a feral like Janpa...

It's because JF is in Germany and not at the games. Come to think of it we haven't won sonce JF went to Germany.

I yelled and screamed as I usually do in the first half and even got a little excited by the first 10 mins of the 3rd quarter, but then with Collingwood kicking 8 of the next 9, took to my own version of the Aussie supporters chant against Croatia. Heard a few mutters saying support the team and all that (obvsiouly the people making those mutters hadn't heard me cheering). The little ditty was

We're Red, We're White, We're playing crap tonight, Sydney Swans, Sydney Swans!

A Swans supporter sitting behind us had a go at one of the girls (who was with us) and sat in front of us for putting her Barry Haul banner up (and it wasnt a large banner either) - I think she did it twice through out the game and this bloke just yelled at her saying" Its my game too and put the bloody sign down" - I just turned and gave him a filthy look - when she did it a third time I just said, loud enough for this pratt to hear "you'd better put the banner down Bec, the cranky bastard behind us will get the @@@@s again" - he heard it alright and there was not another peep out of him. As it turned out it was only held aloft 3 times anyway!

I think he was related to the cranky cow who sat in front of us at the grandfinal
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

We were in the third row, NW pocket. When the bench boys came to do there stretches I yelled out to Benny and Chambers to sit down, they were blocking my view. Got a wry smile from Fossie and a vacant stare from Benny (which is more than the team got out of him the other night)

I even say "Down in front" to the dog(renamed Benny) when he walks in front of the TV. It's just a silly saying that is traditional in our house.

The dog justs gives me a blank stare.........uncanny

That wouldnt require much dressing up though.

If anyone told me to be quiet at the footy I'd just tell them they should stay home and watch it on TV (expletives deleted to keep the mods happy)

Maybe they should have a "no noise" section, like they do with the no alcohol sections. It would be fun trying to spot the person under 60!!
I must admit it did sound pretty quiet on Saturday night. The were only a small group of us in Aisle 107 that were cheering.
