We cop a few unfair decisions, but generally I think the way we play gives up a lot of frees.
I enjoyed hearing the umps conversations with the players tonight
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.
As much as Goldspink seems to annoy everyone, one area where I think he has it all over most of the other umps is the HTB calls - he has an understanding of what prior opportunity means.
There still were a few calls that got the blood boiling but overall nothing too bad....
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
For the first time in a long time, I think we had the better of the umps, particulary in the last quarter. Freo could have got a number of HTM or head high free kicks, but the umps chose to let the game flow - thankfully for us. Of course, I managed to holler at them a number of times for misssed FKs to the Swans, but overall I thought we were pretty well looked after.
They were also very lenient with HTB decisions both ways, some of the tackles the time the player had the ball before disposing of it could have been timed with a sundial.
Amazing how the calls are even when there is no Melbourne team involved.

Thought they were very good except (As ALWAYS) not paying free kicks to Bazza when he is impeded going for a mark....Parker holding and chopped arms at least 3 times in front of goal.
Also the discussion over the goal line thing was merely whether it was a post or touched...the ump signalled touched as soon as Goodes touched the ball.....it then hit the post on the way through and the ump said oops I think thast should be post not touched.
There was never any possibility of it being a goal.
